:( Broke a low E string. How the fuck?!@#!@

How in the hell can someone manage to break a low "e" string? Especially on 11 gauge string sets!!

And I was just getting my groove on too :/ Just finished belting out Thunderstruck then heading into Fire Your Guns then SNAP!

I think I play too wildly.....

<NHBoy> I broke my G-string while fingering a minor :(
<rycool> ...
<NHBoy> I was trying to play Knocking on Heaven's Door.
<NHBoy> Oh well, time to buy new strings.

Aww.. I didn't know that was possible?

Was the string really old??? Kinda odd but it happens. Usually with brand new strings for me....... Get you a new set of BlueSteel's and jam on man.

I've broken my high E string countless time but low E? ... It must of been rusty/old, of you are using razor plectrums. :1orglaugh

The guitarist in my old band would always break strings... always. It didn't matter which one, but he would break a string at least once every practice and every show. It was unreal.

When you get hit in the eyeball with a snapping string, you have problems.

I've come close more than once.

here's the thing guys, these strings are like 3 weeks old with maybe only 24 hours play time on them. They're not even oily yet. I think the knives on my bridge may be too sharp or I just rock out too hard. I've been thinking of finding an original Les Paul bridge and tailpiece for my LP for sustain reaons but now I may have to sooner due to my rough playing lately. I used to play quite softly but now I just go nuts. Not beating the thing but still, playing hard. When I'm playing my strumming/picking hand is going nuts right between the two pickups.

I remember once when I broke a abss string, it snapped back and sliced my finger open. Was not due to playing though, I slammed my headstock right through my bass cabinet.
