I don't remember the damn root password I need to add another user but it wont' let me I run windows servers and it won't even let me do it from command because i don't know the root password How can I get password for root or how can I add another user with grant options? :helpme :helpme :helpme :helpme |
Oh, also. I have root access to the server. I don't think passwords are stored in any certin files(if so i'm guessing their encypted 128bit+)?

Check if the root password is blank. If you don't remember setting it, it may very well be blank.

shut down mysqld and restart it with the --skip-grant-tables option. that ignores the password protection, you can reset the root password and then restart it again. That's how you can fix it in unix land, windows is similar i think
