The biggest problem with this biz (pics)

The biggest problem with this industry is that so many companies have GREAT ideas but can not get them out properly. Either due to poor designs, or bad programming, or even halfassed marketing - nothing ever seems to be done right.
It seems to me things are pumped out 24/7, and just put together really sloppily.

I see so many threads these days "New site does amazing blah blah blah!" but when I look at it I wonder even if the weirdest and most gullable surfers would go for it.

Maybe I am just talking out of my ass (as per usual here) but I sincerely think if more time was put into projects, sites could kick ass. Instead same old content is slapped on a boring old template cookie cutter site and BOOM traffic goes to it instead of reaching max potential.

I agree with the Brad, lots of cool ideas wrapped in ugly wrapping paper

It's hard to be a visionary without a project coordinator. Idea people should do just that. Think up ideas. Then, hire the detail person who takes the idea and makes it marketable.

aren't you getting ready for your date yet?

I'd need a big, skilled staff and unlimited funds to keep up with my ideas. Maybe putting my ideas on paper would keep me from haring off on a tangent every 15 minutes, though.

You're right. One reason I think is due to the faceless consumer and low levels of perceived accountability. When you deal with a customer face-to-face, you feel more compelled to produce a more competant (and competitive) product. Lots more reasons. Things will change however as more entrants compete for the same consumers.

MandyBlake 04-12-2005 01:23 PM

are you speaking about any site in particular?
