Anyone here have the Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD? Check this out
I've had mine since it first came out on DVD several years ago and just today I learned something new about the movie AND the disc.
If you're familiar with the movie you know that Richard O'brien paid homage to numerous classics (IE, the King Kong-ish Rocky carrying Frank up the radio tower, Rocky being created "Frankenstein" style, Magenta's "Bride of Frankenstein" look at the end of the movie, various movies and actors/actresses being mentioned in the songs, etc.) But there is one tribute to a classic that they changed their mind on using but it survives as a hidden feature (easter egg) on the DVD. Originally they were going to tribute The Wizard of Oz by having the film start in black and white then burst into color during "The Time Warp (when Riff Raff flings the doors open to reveal the Transylvanian's party). To see The Rocky Horror Picture Show as it might have ended up looking, put the feature disc in (disc 1), select either US or UK version. When the menu comes up, move the selector down to Scene Selection. Instead of clicking OK, move the selector left. A small set of lips will appear on the left side of the screen. Now click OK and enjoy The Rocky of Oz:thumbsup Personally I'm glad they released it the other way:upsidedow |

I figured Tala and/or Sara (webinc) would hit this thread:thumbsup
I was a cast Riff Raff for a number of years. I had a blonde wig that I cut the top out of, would put on a bald head costume piece and pull the wig down over it. Our Frank was great but our Columbia was so fantastic that someone got the local paper to do a piece on her. We had a hard time keeping a Magenta:tongue: The threater we went to served beer and food so it was like a weekly party for us. Good times :upsidedow |

One of my best accomplishments was convincing the general manager of the enlisted club on NAS Whidbey to let us have a "props included" RHPS viewing. :1orglaugh The cleanup crew hated us, but damn that was fun. Projected it on the big screen on stage, and those who had seen it were having a ball, flinging stuff, singing along, audience participation, etc. Needless to say, it was a one-time run. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
Hotdogs anyone?

went to see it in the theatre about a month ago
hadnt seen it in 20 years and brought back some great flashbacks to my youth Love that movie :thumbsup :thumbsup |

Silliest Rocky experience I had was a party in a bar. The building was laid out in rooms (bar area, pool table room, small gameroom and the hall to the bathroom) that were all open and interconnected. Nobody paid attention to the movie. It was a big water pistol/cannon fight throughout the whole building from the storm scene on. At one point I sat down at the bar to watch a bit of the movie and drink a beer and every few minutes a "sniper" sneaking around the corner would shoot me in the ear :1orglaugh My nastiest Rocky experience was when a particularly rowdy group sitting near us threw a ton of prunes, slung 3 - 20 pound bags of rice, put beer in the water pistols, BUTTERED toast, weiners instead of buns, a 16 pack of Scott Tissue, more playing cards than an average casino has, paper plates, (I'm sure I'm forgetting something):helpme My coolest Rocky experience (beyond that first time in Chicago, of course) was a show at a local playhouse that I was apprehensive about even going to, not because their Brad and Janet were black but because their Riff Raff was 13! I fully expected to find it silly, but they all 3 along with their Frank blew me away, especially that kid who was hilarious beyond words and literally stole the show. He obviously had parents or older brother/sisters who were Rocky fans. He also hit some notes Richard O'Brien would have never been capable of :thumbsup During "Don't Dream it, Be it, the cast went out in the audience and grabbed someone to dance with. I guess it must had been obvious that I was enjoying the show more than half the room because "Janet" worked her way through several sections to come get me. :upsidedow I told her that they were fantastic and that I had never had more fun at a show.:drinkup |
wow.. awesome find there.. thanx

wow cool..I have had my copy for years too and never knew that. It figures you are a fan, right? ;) The only virginity I lost on my prom night was my rocky one but I had been masterbating for years before hand. Over the years I was regulars at the Allentown, PA cast, the Boston/Cambridge cast (which are still the best I have seen) and the London cast. They don't do it in London anymore but hopefully someone will bring it back. I went to the last show in London and it was so sad..i did cry.
I ran into ROB on a street in London once and almost passed out. Said 'that is god' to my friend but she didn't understand. Anyway..my new coolest Rocky Horror moment was the all webmaster showing in Pheonix last week when me and Don Mike ruled. That was so sureal. You need to be at the next one! (we need to meet anyway) |

I met my husband because one night I went into an irc channel and he was leading a virtual time warp and the rest is history. Columbia is my character..i still want the outfit rather badly. |
and of course, real fans sit through Shock Treatment now and then and pretend we like most of it

The RH albums I have are international cast albums (cool to hear the songs in so many languages), remixes/dubs, remakes, etc. |

that be the one and yes, I agree it is better than the DVD even if you can hear Sal all the way through like you can on most Rocky things. I have the international cast album too..some of those people are so off key but it still cracks me up. |
Coolio. Will check it out.
Thanks |
