I wouldnt be surprised if they own 1000s of domains that have the word google in them just to stop attacks from people against google. I bet PayPal wishes they had bought www.paypalsucks.com before someone else did. :1orglaugh

how do you know it's owned by google?

Exactly. It's amazing how many hours/money large companies have to sink into searching out and registering every related domain name just to prevent fruitcakes from publishing defamatory sites.

And when they don't (for whatever reason), someone internally usually gets raked over the coals when the Board surfs the 'net and sees: GoogleBites.com etc.

I guess its pretty cheap for them though since they are a registry.

googlexxx.com stands for Go Ogle XXX

or

googleporn.com stands for Go Ogle Porn

so you cant be accused of using their name.

Might be worth the publicity to run it under an out of country account/partner to try it out. :)

they are probably taking over thier branded domains
