What if an affiliate signs up with

a URL that doesnt resolve. Or put down one like www.google.nl. Or one displaying his train collection.

Normally wed email him to supply a valid adult url. Most of these guys obviously never reply and just leech the webmaster content in no time.

Do you block them? Or email?

This has concerned me too. I tended to ask about this this in my welcoming email to them and hope for a response. :2 cents:

Would be interested to see other responses :thumbsup

Happens, I think they're scamming content. Just had an asswipe sign up last wk with a bs url. Ithen emailed him; "Before you sign up as an affilate, you need a real site." and he gave me a bs excuse. I removed my content pass from my affiliate program years ago... if someone joins, they need to email me with valid info to get a pass. Funny thing, is you've surfers who can just go to yahoo or google and type in your addy, they all the content is there... I wonder how many webmasters actually think about it... you've got hundreds or thousands of galleries showing everything with free clips everywhere... no wonder why this biz gets more difficult year after yr

I cant see how a valid url means anything? A domain costs $1 and most webmasters have 100's of them. are you worried about surfers stealing your content or webmasters? Im sure surfers would not have the hassell and just visit the tons of free sites out there and Im sure webmasters who wanted to steal it would just give you a domain or site the have.

Plus there are some affiliates who dont work like that at all, I know and have some who just do things like google ad words, they dont even have sites, but they can still make you good sales without using any bandwith

Dont let them join as affiliates unless they provide an adult domain.
There should be some minimal threshold to call yourself an "adult webmaster", shouldnt there?

Another thing, is it's not even about the # of affiliates. Only a few actually send traffic

fris 04-11-2005 06:32 AM
