I guess it's good progress to spend 4 months with someone to find out you're not going to be happy spending the rest of your life with them. I figure it's a lot better than having spent a couple years and coming to the same conclusion.

I've thought about our past, which was constant bickering about the lamest petty 12 year old bullshit I've ever heard... and imagine spending the rest of my life around that. I just can't comprehend that.

So I went to Starbucks, and laid down the news. It wasn't easy, and it took - oh, about 7 hours from start to finish, but I think it's worth it. It's worth having my sanity back and actually being able to focus on things that matter, like people that I can picture having a serious future with.

4 months really isn't much to base a long term relationship on :2 cents:

Me too, I've gotten with girls on my lower times -- when I wasn't doing good. There been points where I had to move in with bitches cuz I had no where else to go.. And that soon shit gaining too much tension, it happens.. it's kinda like being married from what I hear

Not at Starbucks for 7 hours, no. But it began there, and then we walked around for a couple hours in which I did some venting in a loud tone that I rarely use, just to let her know that I mean business and I'm serious about what I'm saying. Then we went back to my house, where we continued to discuss the reasons behind my decision... she kept asking for explanations over and over, and over.

The short explanation is she's absolutely horrible with any kind of communication, which women are usually quite natural with. She'd internalize things and unleash, without much explanation as to why she's so upset. I'd ask her, and try to have her clarify, and she'd just go around in circles calling me an asshole for "bagering" her. Any girl I've been with in the past would be able to quickly and easily offer up an explanation for anything I want to know, but she was different in a way that I can't understand.

She admitted to me a couple months ago that she had been beaten pretty badly by her dad when she was growing up, and her parents are pretty heavy alcoholics. I know that women tend to develop relationship problems starting with this type of abuse... it was obvious how she had been affected.

So I advised her to seek counceling because I honestly don't believe she can have a functional, healthy relationship without driving the guy she's with insane.

Yep, this morning when we were visiting my parents in Rocklin.

4 months or 4 years, if you know it's for the best then you know. I just broke up with my gf 2 weeks ago and we had been living together for about 8 months. Never live with a chick if you're not married, it'll save a lot of problems. Anyway I hope everything works out for ya!
