The Doors is great. Meg Ryan and him are just perfect working together. I think he is great in tombstone.

You did not speak out of turn :1orglaugh

Tombstone was his best. I like when he tells Billy Bob Thornton's character "you may go now" lol.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 04-10-2005 10:21 PM

Aw, c'mon - Val's best role was as John Holme's in Wonderland. This is a porn board fer chrissakes.

http://www.dvdoo.com/dvdoo/images/mo...ders_2dk_f.jpg

The book ("No One Here Gets Out Alive") was far better than the Oliver Stone's weak Doors movie, and the next best flick for Kilmer was "Heat".

So there!

If you have a decent home theater system then put on the Heat DVD, skip to the shootout in front of the bank, and crank up the volume.

That's my favorite shoot out scene. :ak47:

In my living room it feels like you are sitting in the car next to them while they are firing out the windows. :thumbsup

All just preference I suppose. I was a big doors fan prior to the movie (somewhere in my bookshelf there's a couple of doors bios, including "Noone here gets out alive" mentioned by someone else). Tombstone was good, but I thought Doors was better.

He was awesome in Willow, too. :thumbsup

pornguy 04-10-2005 11:42 PM

I kind of liked him in Real Genius

zzgundamnzz 04-10-2005 11:47 PM

He had some bad ass moves with that tin cup :thumbsup

Doc Holliday for sure.

Steve 04-10-2005 11:49 PM

Actually, I liked Dennis Quaid as Doc Holliday a lot better - no knock on Kilmer.

Have you guys seen Spartan? It's another low-key release with this guy, and I thought he did a fantastic job in it. Another good movie with him is The Ghost and the Darkness. Heat's a good movie, and Kilmer is solid, but it's a supporting role. He makes the most of it, but it's a Pacino/DeNiro film.

I just saw Spartan tonight
fucking amazing movie, Kilmer's best in a long time...but, my personal favorite is the already mentioned Nick Rivers in Top Secret and of course Jim Morrison in The Doors

wargames 04-11-2005 12:42 AM

I never liked Val Kilmer. He's the worst Batman ever.

i strongly disagree with you regarding heat and Ghost. both movies he was did not shine.

to understand when kilmer shines in roles you have to understand how he does his job. when he played doc, john holmes, the saint, morrison...batman... he literly watches hundreds to thousands of hours of video on these characters -- to build his own.

in the movies he did not shine, is where there were no historic figures or clear drawings of what he was to portray. he ends up muddling his way through it and is a big disappointment.
