WTF?? Yuppie Raised Collars are Back????

Ok, as a child of the 80's, I cannot deny some of the strange fashions I myself wore during those strange times (parachute pants anyone?). I also realize that "retro" clothes are in right now... but when did wearing Izod/Polo shirts with the yuppie collars raised up on your neck become "cool"? I have seen a ton of young guys wearing shirts this way, and I cannot believe this is the best retro idea they could find. Anyone else seen this? :Oh crap

Paraskass 04-10-2005 08:59 PM

it fucking pisses me off when they raise their collars.

it's fucking ugly.

DTK 04-10-2005 08:59 PM

Yes, they're back...but they're not yuppie, they're preppie :winkwink: :thumbsup old skool prepStyle yo

Damian_Maxcash 04-10-2005 09:01 PM

You need a rugby shirt for the full effect......

I believe a rugby shirt is the same basic style as "polo" shirts here...

detoxed 04-10-2005 09:12 PM

Rich people have ALWAYS done that. They never stopped and most wouldnt consider wearing it any other way.

ozmatt 04-10-2005 09:15 PM

yep, i see it alot around here, has been "in" for a while now

I've only noticed it in the past month or two...

JD 04-10-2005 09:53 PM

yeah, it's been what the "cool kids" do for a while. It makes me want to hit'em with a stick and tell them "NO" like you tell your dog after it shits in the house.

MetaMan 04-10-2005 09:57 PM

i always wear a high collar either on my jacket or my shirt.

Even when it was popular in the 80's, it was never "classic". :1orglaugh

You know you are getting old when you complain about how young people dress and the music they listen to.
