Is this a Scam?

I got this email. I also get alot of nigerian scam letter emails, but they are so played out they're easy to spot. This one sounds like a scam...but i wanna get a second opinion. read >>

Hello, my name is Radek. I live in Romania. I want to offer you cooperation.

I have the Internet site and I make good money on it. I sell laptops worldwide and monthly my site makes approximately 20000 $. My site have many clients, but unfortunately site do not have system " Online payment " and consequently my clients cannot pay for purchase of the goods immediately.

With online payment will be more convenient to process payments and a site will involve more clients. On statistics, sites with Online Payment make in 2-3 times more profit. If connect site and Online Payment the site will make a minimum 40000 $ monthly.

I contacted with company giving to sites system online payments and they told that their company work with all big countries, but at present time do not work with banks of my country and consequently I write to you. For me and my site necessary a partner.

What do I suggest to you and what work you do? 1) You register my site in system which gives to sites online payment. (it can do everyone and takes only 2 minutes.) 2) Two times in month you will receive money which make my site and get yourself 30 % from the received sum. 3) Send other 70 % to me.

It very simply also demands for you only 2 hours per month to receive money and send to me 70 % from the received sum.

Other work is made by me! It is good for us together!

For me: the site will bring 2-3 times more money. For you: monthly you will earn a minimum on 12000 $ more!

At present I have some fresh orders on the sum 9000 $. If my offer interested you, then after registration in system giving online payment, this money will be the first for us together and we shall see success already in the first days!

If my offer has interested you please write back on mailto:[email protected]

ruler1 04-10-2005 06:45 PM

Of course some foreign fucker offers you 12,000$ per month and it's not a scam.

:2 cents:

Jace 04-10-2005 06:46 PM

anything that is emailed to you without you asking for it is a scam....

put it this way, if someone called you on the phone with the same offer, would you even think twice before you hung up?

wargames 04-10-2005 06:51 PM

Just be careful.

tungsten 04-10-2005 06:54 PM

this one is quite obvious.. scam for sure

hydro 04-10-2005 07:02 PM

Heres how this scam works. He gets you to process orders for his site and you'll see a few orders a day in the $2,000+ for a total of about $10,000 per day for a total of about 200k per month. What he does is use stolen credit cards to place those orders then he recieves the money from you then 15 days after the month ends you get stuck with $200,000+ in chargebacks and a cancled merchant account. Fall for this one and you might as well bend over in front of a formula 1 racing car and let it drive up your ass.

hydro 04-10-2005 07:05 PM

His email being [email protected] doesnt help either. If he really was a webmaster he'd know not to use free email accounts and especially not free email accounts from an email provider who replaces ip headers so its users stay anonymous and promotes their service by mass mailing with worms/viruses

I see. I thought it was fishy. The amount of $ he's talkin about seems like alot too for laptop sales in his neck of the woods. I didn't figure on the credit card schemes but it doesn't surprise me at all. Sounds like some shit those cats from Shadowcrew and Carderplanet would pull.

foxxx 04-10-2005 07:35 PM

bhahahahahaha fucking scammers...

any prick willingly giving away 30% is a scam

any prick wanting YOU to take the fall on the credit card system is a scam

and most of all any prick wanting YOU to send them the money is a scam...

seriously, if they dont live in a country that's reputable and cant speak fucking english - tell them to fuck off...

That sounds about right.

Gotta be careful with EVERY piece of unsolicited email. Especially these kind as they seem legit.

NEVER go into business with someone you don't know or at least someone nobody that you know... knows. Ya know.

Screaming 04-10-2005 08:18 PM

hell i had trouble following it

While it could be legit, I wouldn't do it.

I have a bud over in the Czech Republic, and he has had some shipping, and payment issues with his stuff, so there is a some possible legitamacy here. Just not my cup o' tea.
