http://www.valentine1.com/ Valentine is the best one made in my opinion. I am not sure if it stays under the radar like you are looking for. I once picked up a Texas Highway Patrol 7 miles away from me. One great feature is that it points in which direction the bogey if coming from. :2 cents:

hahaha There is only one radar detector unable to be detected by Canadian Police.. I have the Valentine 1 here in the states, but it WILL get detected in canada..

Getting caught with one in canada, which happens all the time gets you mad points and a big fine. PLUS your speeding ticket.

The Vector 995 will be picked up by the OPP, you just threw away 300 bucks.

but it did save my ass good 5-10 times, I want to get another one, but if they catch me again I will be in serious shit ;/

Just obey the posted speed limits and not put every around you in danger. Simple low tech solution. Works against all police radars world wide.

I have rarely seen laser being used on the side of a highway, but from personal experience, laser is VERY easy to defeat in court. Since it CANNOT be used from within the cruiser, there would have to be a cop standing at a tripod with the unit. Then, when/if your caught, they won't step out (it's a HIGHWAY), they'll have a cruiser or two waiting up ahead to pull you over. No problem. That cop has now given you a ticket based on heresay evidence, and the original officer USING the radar equipment will likely not show up in court.

Secondly, I only really support radar-detector use on the highway. There's speed limits in the city for a REASON. On the highway, the OPP 99% of the time is using car-mounted units that are either in the windhsield, and/or in the rear window, or in a pod on the side of the car (hanging off the driver's side rear window). Most times they can do both mobile and stationary radar from these setups. The V1 is invaluable against these units since their installation in the cruiser actually creates a rather large "scatter" of radio waves.

All radar detectors leak a small amount of signal that police can observe using a "Radar Detector Detector" (RDD). Over 30 police departments' worldwide use the the Spectre RDD
I can live with those odds.

You honestly have no idea what you are talking about, I have been to court 4 times fighting laser tickets and won 3.. Your facts are wrong..

Laser can be used from inside a car, it does not need to be on a tripod,

Laser CANNOT be used from a moving police car...

Laser is used 95% of the time on a highway, because in a city, there are laws governing the use of laser beams etc etc.

The hearsay evidence made me laugh, you try that one in court and they will laugh at you and make you pay the full ammount.

My V1 has saved me atleast 8 times in the states, even from a highway patrol helicopter running a speed trap. and last week i gave this cop a smug look, he pulls around behind me, stops in the middle of the road, and thats when I knew he was going to hit me with his dash mounted radar, he pinged me 3 times, each time my V1 was freaking out.

Before i had a radar detector, I got nailed speeding 40km Over, in Kingston.. It was a speed trap, the COP walks out in the highway and flags you down, they are not afraid of getting infront of moving traffic.

I used to have a radar detector.... can't remember what brand it was... but it would detect if the cops had a radar detector detector and shut itself down so it would be invisible...... in essence it was a radar detector detector detector.

:)
