Network Solutions & Domain Name Transfers
Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to transfer a domain name from Network Solutions? They don't seem to want my money for the renewal, so it seems I have 21 days to transfer it to a company that does. For some reason I don't have a lot of confidence in them. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif

Fuck NS. Transfer it to OpenSRS and you will never have this problem again.

NS sucks balls ... they used to require you to fill out an affidavit and get it notarized. I'm sure all of that was caused by the sex.com thing..

Shouldn't take long at all..
Depends on where it's transferred to, not where from..(I think) Here's a good place.. https://www.registryrocket.com ------------------ SUBMIT YOUR GALLERIES http://home.maine.rr.com/spacedog/spacedogs.jpg |
Get on a plane and go to Virginia. Thats the easiest way to deal with them. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/frown.gif

It only takes 2 to 3 business days at the most, xoxo Heather

Directnic blows Gary's goats. Worse goddam outfit to deal with...almost like dealing with the government...oh wait, they ARE the government.

Dude, I once tried to transfer a domain for a client from that moth-ridden outfit. Took over 2 months with faxes and certified letters and god knows what else. I think I still owe them a virgin.
I've been using directnic since then and haven't had a problem. Mass edit nameservers and just about any other perk you can think of. If the registrar is working properly, why do you need support?? godaddy.com is supposed to be good too...only $8.95 per domain I think and they don't freak out when you buy in bulk either. |
I gave up NS back when they hijacked one of my mainstream domains. Sent them notorized fax after notorized fax after notorized letter... after email after email after email.... and it is in fact, still in their possession to this day. That was the last straw with NS.
OpenSRS is the mutha fuckin' shit. I can register, transfer, manage, change info or nameservers, all in real time right on the fucking fly.... not one single problem since the very first day. And I've got tons of domains in there system now.... Kudos & thanks to Derek from Xamo... I was hosting with them when I discovered OpenSRS... and there's no turning back now. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif |
Yep, any of the opensrs outfits rock! Changes are quick and easy...and no goddam goatfucking!

I had that problem and I got tired of dealing with all the crap of trying to change the name on the account at NSI. I had bought the domain in someone elses name and then decided to keep it so I decided to try transfering it to direct nic to my account and it worked. It only took a few days. Just make sure that you are the admin contact for the domain at network solutions. Log in to your direct nic account and file for a transfer.
|
Yep, transfer those fuckers out of NSI ASAP so you don't get goat fucked!

Does someone actually run NS? I'm imagining it as some kind of ghost ship, with no-one at the wheel.
The first time I went there to renew the domain, I typed in www.networksolutions.com, and it redirected to www.netsol.com. It couldn't find a record of my domain name. When I then went straight to www.netsol.com, it found it. Then I tried three different cards and they were all reported as "declined". Then their "24 hour support" didn't respond within 5 days. It would almost be funny if it wasn't so damn serious. Anyone taking bets on how long they'll stay in business? I'm surprised they lasted this long. |
We're from the government, we're here to help you.
|
Yeah, DirectNic has been very good to me. I never had to contact them for anything, but have my domains in their stable.
It's odd about Network Solutions though. You'd think that in order for them to survive, they'd drop down their prices to compete. I guess that they still have people scared in believing that if they don't use them, that their sites will fall, he he. |
