Question for all those married people...

What did your wedding run, where was it at and how many people attended?

We planned on a larger wedding this year, but we're considering scaling down and doing a small one anywhere in the world that we want. I just want to get an avg of what some people paid per head, etc.

Thanks! :thumbsup

Thats what we were at for 50 people... We were booking it at Manhatten Beach, but we did a date change. Now I'm wondering if it's even worth it at all now for us. The IRS raped me, and I'm not a "credit" guy. I like to pay $$.

It's hard because my fiance is a wedding coordinator herself. I don't want to let her down, but this wedding is 100% on my tab. I hate being in this position. :Oh crap

We got married in the garden of my sister's place - one of the most beautiful spots we could find. Our "receiption" was a BBQ round the other side of the house where I did the cooking.

We had a total of 10 guests - all immediate family members.

It was the second time for both of us and we had both had a big wedding the first time and both of us are of the same opinion - big weddings=big headaches and they're more for the hangers-on than the couple getting married.

The garden wedding was much more personal, memorable and intimate and we wouldn't recommend anything else

We had our wedding in a hotel; got married right at the reception site. It's already decorated and we're not religious, so why not get more bang for the buck? We're not fancy tuxedo and bridal gown type people so I just wore a nice cocktail dress and hubby wore a suit...we had about 50 guests for dinner, drinks, and dancing and the whole thing cost us under $5k (can't remember exactly).

I really don't understand why people would spend 20 or 30 thousand+ dollars on a silly wedding. That's a downpayment on a house for goodness sake! What a waste to spend that much on a party.....

if you don't have a house yet better to spend the money on a down payment then a fancy wedding.

this is true i did it. We spend the money on a down payment and we got married by the civil thing but we are planning to get married by the church next year and then we'll be doing a great party not huge but something nice...

:thumbsup
