nice monitors, how much for the setup?

I still cant understand how anyone can edit video properly on lcd flat panel monitors. I tried but just could never get the color to look right when output, LCD monitors just dont have the proper resolution of color range as the high end tube monitors.
But anyway nice setup :thumbsup

Monitors like that are expensive... I have run triple screens on the editing system for a year or so now, it's nice but in the end not as productive as you might think. Better to preview ACTUAL output as opposed to generated on screen to be more comfortable with what actually is going to get seen be end users on their home TVs.

Very nice - what did that setup cost ya?

Here's mine - had it about a month now. I opted for a 21" Samsung "SyncMaster" Flat-panel instead of two smaller screens. It's big, bright and beautiful :winkwink:

Well, I did entertain the thought of doing that...but I was chicken. I heard some stories of people building their own editing systems and having hardware conflicts and shit like that....and I just didn't want the headache.

Then how many lines of resolution are you using/wanting for your videos?

I do nothing BUT video..and just nothing BUT flat screens and have absolutely no problems with the resolution rate.

I would imagine its best to edit on a monitor that most people will use to view it with. This was you see what they see. If you have a ritzy monitor and 99% of peopel are using flat screens it's kind of self defeating, no?

That editing system runs out to my tv in my living room.... So I can look at things on a TV... I always like to see what people are seeing.... when my final output is for dvd or broadcast

not bad but honestly xeons suck compared to the amd 64bit athlons and opterons. My specs AMD 64bit Athlon 3200 800mhz front side bus, 4 gigs of ddr 3200, FireGL V7100 PCI EXPRESS ati video card, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Plat... 2x 80gig sata drives, 8 usb 2.0 1 firewire, DVD burner, Cd Burner, duel 21 inch moniters.
