Is 4 months revenue good selling price?

Besides being tied up by a new mainstream business, my wife and I want to adopt and want to get rid of biz beforehand... so we are letting both our corps go w/ minimum selling price less than 6 months revenue... and due to Ibill fiasco, tons of room for major short term growth.

Starting with revenue... The following accounts for the majority of the revenue. There is currently ~ $1500 / month in other revenue (sponsor programs and old innuity account)

Ibill: Nov 2004 - 1449 @ 23,090.55
Ibill: Dec 2004 - 1,167 @ $19,118.00
Ibill: Jan 2005 - 1,160 @ $19,220.03
Ibill: Feb 2005 - 298 @ $4,740.94
Ibill: March 2005 - 58 @ $984.00

Epoch: Feb 2004 - 432 @ $6,189.80
Epoch: March 2004 - 675 @ $9,213.60

We cancelled all our Ibill subscribers in February and got some to move over to Epoch, but only a small percentage. Most of the Epoch $ are from new subscribers, so rebill base has a lot of growth potential.

We have active affiliates that have started moving over to Epoch as well, so that is helping growth.

Content is all licenses or produced in house w/ model releases on file.
We have original, unedited content cds and tapes on a lot of our in house content, but may not have all from over the years.

Almost all our licenses and original content is posted, but there is still a little of both that is not released.

Traffic: All hard trades and tgps. Also, tabathajordan.com, hollyheartbreak.com, sweetecstasy.com and bulgingbras.com show nearly 5000 search engine clicks per week just from those sites.
Our servers combined push a pretty consistent 3 megabit, so we've got some traffic moving....

Expenses:
Under $4k / month for hosting and leased content

More details on request at [email protected]
Minimum asking price: $45,000 (~ 4 months gross)

you should request selling price based on profits, not gross

adonthenet 04-08-2005 07:31 AM

Hell yeah exactly what im looking for, Emailing you now :)

Nysus 04-08-2005 07:33 AM

Yeah, 8-12 months worth of profits is usual standard; it depends on a lot though, example being that you might have some domains that someone really likes, or the fact that you say revenues can be increased again easily, would make it legitimate to ask for a higher price than the 8-12 month mark would set the sale price to.. Long sentence, but hope you get my points.

Good luck... :)

OK! One year's profits then is usually a minimum starting point.... so $60,000 please!

:thumbsup

MandyBlake 04-08-2005 07:35 AM

good luck on your adoption and new projects.

Matt

Revenue should easily get back up near $15k, if not to $20k again. Hell, we haven't been actively marketing for nearly 2 years... should be able to get us back up to 30 or 40K...

The more responses, the more I think I should raise the price. :winkwink:

You've got mail.

Ibill affiliates were emailed and starting signing up to promote in March. Only $700 in March was from affiliates... this revenue is growing rapidly and should be around $5k relatively quick.

thanks. :)

Epoch: Feb 2004 - 432 @ $6,189.80
Epoch: March 2004 - 675 @ $9,213.60

Where are $$$'s from Epoch in Jan, Feb, March of 2005? 2004 doesn't help anyone at all.

You say that everything is included, except these 3 domains & content asociated with them, so that make me wonder, how much of the gross numbers you posted, are generated by these 3 domains.. If it's a significant portion, then we would need to see the numbers without these 3 above listed domains included in the numbers...

From 2004, we were running about $2k / month in old rebill processing at Epoch. We starting moving some new sales again to Epoch in Dec and made the full move (all our sites) to Epoch in Feb, 2005.

Full stats can be made available to serious buyers. The point is we did not have significant Epoch processing before Ibill went defunct, so the business at Epoch is primarily new business that is being rebuilt from scratch (but from an old, established business that did significant volume with Ibill)...

Insignificant numbers. They are being excluded because they are family.
Actual numbers to serious inquiries.

Pete-KT 04-08-2005 08:36 AM

something smells fishy why are the epoch stats for 2004?

khy 04-08-2005 08:38 AM

Please post additional questions in thread or to my email: [email protected]

I am heading out for most of the day and will answer all late tonight.

Just note as well, we 've been in business since 1997, so we are established. I am not a fly by night, throw up some sites and try to sell them guy. You WILL make your money back on this deal. CAKE

Also, we have a note from Ibill for $75k... might not ever see it, but buyer will be buying any remaining debt and may get a landfall one day. :)

Answers to all upcoming questions later tonight....

Thanks for the emails.

the problem with selling internet businesses is that because of few most people are very skeptical... my adivse to get rid of th fears is to promise to hold the money in a trust for say 1-2 months and if everything goes well the seller gets his money otherwise.. u need to check ur lawyers..
