Some of these religious types really are a curious lot aren't they?
In today's NY Times....
"One Million Wait to View the Pope as Line Is Cut Off" VATICAN CITY, April 6 - The streets around St. Peter's Basilica swelled Wednesday with an estimated one million pilgrims, nearly double the barely manageable number of the day before. The surge was so great that late on Wednesday night Italian officials closed down the line to view the body of Pope John Paul II. Lining up to view a dead body. I can see when it's a close relative or close friend, that some would want to view the body.... but damn.. the guy's been dead for what, a week now? Put him in the damn ground already. How can 3 million people not see the morbidity factor? |
It must be like the superbowl for catholics..

I'd like to see him too.
He visited my city once, but I didn't go to see him, because it would require getting up very early in the morning, and I have been lazy already back then. I am not going to Rome, but I will spend probably some money on some chairty instead. |

Giving to charity is always a good idea. I hope someone doesn't have to die before some people will do that though. |
The Polish people have a special place for him as he helped them get rid of communism.
The other people are mostly just weirdos who believe in false prophets |

All the radio stations are playing only calm, peaceful songs. And approximately 2 of 38 millions Poles are going to Rome. That speaks for itself.... |
