A couple of weeks ago my fiance and I were told by a very good friend (of which we are supposed to be going into business with) that he had received a visit from the local police and a Marshall from the FBI regarding my fiance being in a Yahoo Chat Room and asking for the other person to take off their blouse. This friend (whom holds a Federal Bar Card) has since told us that the FBI has been monitoring our home computer and they have a file about 3 inches thick of these requests. He also told us that they had started an investigation and that he was facing many felony counts for solicitation, sexual harrassment, etc. This scared us to death, but there is a good side, my friend said, because he has contacts that can make all of this "go away". We have since handed him $5000.00 and he told us that he would put the other $5000.00 up in order to have the agencies involved make the case "go away". I have done some checking but cannot get any information that any of this is true. Now, we do not believe that any of this ever existed. We believe that there are no files, no FBI, and no local police that visited him. We have also done some checking into the background of this friend, and have found that he has been convicted of perjury and received a 3 year probation and yes, holds a Federal Bar Card as a Federal Attorney.
We will never know if this is true or not because my "friend" tells me that everything has been destroyed and there is nothing left for us to see. (We had asked to see these files as my fiance has a very common name and there are other people in our area with the same name.
Is what my fiance did a felony crime that he could be prosecuted for or any kind of a crime for that matter? And is what my friend doing extortion or blackmail? He is still asking us for the $5000.00 to "repay" his girlfriends equity line.
If there is someone out there that can help it would be greatly appreciated.
