Cooked Thai food for the first time

It was like 11PM when Ellisa and I got hungry for dinner ( we are on a wierd schedule for food ) and we had a craving for asian noodles. It really didnt matter what kind.

Off we went to the Japanese place.... Closed

so them we tried our favorite Chinese place.... Closed

Ahhh to hell with it lets just get some of those noodle bowls in our local grocers freezer, so off we head to our local 24 hour grocery and fuck they dont have anything good in the way of frozen noodle bowls.

I ended up in the Asian foods isle and I find the stuff to make Pad Thai

WOW it was awesome we did it with Tofu and egg.

I think I found my new favorite dish for a while!!!

I love Pad Thai and now I can cook it at home! Why Leave?

Tanker 04-07-2005 12:14 AM

tommorrow I am getting a new wok

marttali 04-07-2005 12:41 AM

u should try curry foods out- green, red, yellow with chicken, crabs, pork or with whatever. Those are so fuckin delicious..

Thai food rocks :) Damn spicy sometimes though

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 04-07-2005 12:45 AM

Dude check this out.

Get some firm Tofu
Get a pan put peanut oil in the pan, not alot just a nice little puddle.
Cube the TOfu
There is this stuff called Soy Vey. Awesome teriyaki sauce.
Heat up the tofu, flip around some get the edges nice and little crispy then when its crackling good ad the SoyVey Sauce. Cook for about another 30 seconds until the Soy Vey gets thicker on the tofu.

Throw it on a plate and eat;)

Ya can have a nice meal in less than 5 minutes:)

JUSTB 04-07-2005 11:26 AM

I could eat thai food everyday. My favorite is the Panang curry. Also, anything with cilantro and lime. I cook it a lot at home.

Tanker 04-07-2005 11:30 AM

I dont like the smell of curry I need to find a way to get around that I just cant stand it I dont know why

JUSTB 04-07-2005 12:13 PM

Thai curry is different than Indian curry.

You should try 'chicken satay with pinda sauce', as Thai call it. Tastes great... and is almost for free in Thailand :)

Then you aint been eating Pad Thai... you been eating Pad Farang.
When served Pad Thai in Thailand you get 4 condiments to add to your dish.
1 - Fish Sauce 2 - Sugar 3 - Powered Chilli 4 - Chilli soaked in somthing..

That's a diplomatic way of putting it. LOL!

I agree Tanker. I'm learning to like tofu too and I don't think I will be signing up for the advanced tofu courses anytime soon.
