They "made" this event ...

Love Brokers 04-07-2005 01:25 AM

Let me tell ya! His body "stinks" good by now. Hasnt been enbalmed. Once you smell a decomposing human body, you never forget it. First one was at the L.A. County Morgue.

Who do you think is going to be buying commercial time? I don't know that there is any real money going to be made, but bragging rights will be sought.

I will tell you what, this is nothing like what it was like when Pope John XXIII died. I guess it didn't help that there were only 3 TV channels back then.

Then Pope John Paul I, he lasted 33 days.

John Paul II lasted a long time compared to the last few they have had. Catholics got attached, and he was pretty cool when he first got the job and was very popular among Catholics.

If you've been watching CNN the past week you'd be under the impression that the world has literally stood still since he became gravely ill. I wonder if anything else is happening in the world???

jamesonxx 04-07-2005 02:06 AM

Yeah it's like a feast not a funeral.

You gotta love how the media grabs on to an event like this and will milk it for all it's worth. They'll report the event, then they'll rehash it about a billion times, they'll get the experts in to sit around and discuss it, blah, blah, blah....let's go live to our reporter on the scene to find out what we already know, blah, blah, blah.....

....and in other news, a volcano exploded in Japan killing 3 million people, but now let's get back to talking about this Pope thing...

reynold 04-07-2005 02:24 AM

yeah there's too much media coverage on the pope's death that it overshadows other news
