 Question about press releases

i've heard somewhere.... forget where.. about writing up a press release and submitting it to adult news sites... like about a launch of an affiliate program etc.... is there any benefit of doing this? does it bring in more affiliates?

 bump....

Yes, its a good way to market to the adult world. When I put out press releases they get on AVN.com etc.
Hit me up for pointers. :pimp |

If press releases didnt work do you think a bunch of companies would be doing it? Short answer is yes they do work but don't expect it to bring in hundreds of new affiliates or anything like that.

hitting you up content producer :)

Yes press release work really well however, you have to get the timing of the PR right for it to yield maximum results.
For example, a PR posted on a Friday, wont yield as higher results as a PR posted on a Wednesday will. Likewise, a PR hitting everywhere on the same day, wont work as well as stagering your PR to hit a variety of places on consecutive days ;) Regards, Lee |

After doing almost 6 years worth of press releases in the adult industry we have accumulated a buch of stats based on the PR's we have sent out, including breaking them down by the type of PR (affiliate program, general announcement, content store etc) and the time of day its submitted right through to the day of the week and even to who and how its submitted. http://www.avnonline.com/index.php?P...tent_ID=221409 AVN hacked it up a little so they could fit it in their exclusive news section but the basics are all there :) Regards, Lee |

think they would take my story as adults youngest paysite owner lol :)

The world is littered with poor press releases - try this link if you really do want to write your own
http://www.pressbox.co.uk/contpr1.htm and then do a search on Google for power words - the headline of any press release is the most vital part of the whole thing and if it doesn't contain a couple of important power words you may as well not even waste your time writing it because few people will read it. :2 cents: |

Pay sites come and go like the wind and the waves and telling people that you are the youngest paysite owner will not instill confidence in anyone. I don't mean to suggest that you shouldn't run a paysite - I just mean that in many peoples' minds youth equates with inexperience, lack of capital, and a lack of staying power and few affiliates would want to risk their traffic and income with someone who conjured up all those doubts in their minds. |

Well, you should cover the W's.... Who, what, why, where, and How.... And then you write the important stuff first, less important last. When it's truncated for space, the editor starts at the tail. Oh and make DAMN sure you use a spell checker!!!!!! (Layed-laid, on-one) And a grammar checker. Avoid run-on sentences. There are many good books on writing a press release, but it's not all that hard. Just tell the world about what you are doing, and why it's important to them. As for the value of it? This question seems to have it's own answer, doesn't it? If it gets you one more anything of what you are trying to sell, it's worth it, now isn't it? You can have the greatest mousetrap in the world, but if you don't tell the mice about it in some way, they ain't a gonna find it, are they? |
