Man I Just Learned A Good Friend Of Mine Died

In his sleep last night in Cleveland he was 41-
I am definitely quitting smoking today and plan to get out and exercise more and watch what I eat more closely.

He had high blood pressure and a bad heart from partying for years drinking, smoking, and coking...

He quit all of that, and now he is dead...

41 with two kids- man I am bummed.

41 is way too young.

:(

eroswebmaster 04-06-2005 11:22 AM

Fletch XXX 04-06-2005 11:22 AM

nothing sillier than quitting because someone died.

people have died from smoking for years, and NOW you are scared?

I quit Halloween 1997, cold turkey

for that reason I only smoke a good cigar ones every few weeks, don't drink and don't do any drugs.
Sorry to hear

TheJimmy 04-06-2005 11:39 AM

sorry to hear that man, I quit about 3 years ago...first week or two is a bitch, use the patch for a day or three...that's how I did it...just used the patch long enough to learn how to deal with the PSYCH issue of not smoking every hour or so, once I learned how to drink tea, chew gum and do other crap for my daily mini-breaks then I tackled the physical addition part and just left the patch off...

wish I had done it years ago, and man 41 is WAY too young, scarey to hear when you're 36 :/

Furious_Male 04-06-2005 11:41 AM

Loosing a friend and loved one at such an early age is always a difficult time in anyones life.
Sorry to hear you of your loss and my deepest sympathy for his family.

boner 2.0 04-06-2005 12:00 PM

TheGoldenChild 04-06-2005 12:41 PM

Thank you all for your well wishes-
It's just time to stop with all the superfluous bullshit-

No need to be doing stupid things anymore - I guess it's part of becoming an adult
for Christ's sake I am 36
I think I have been an adult for a while..

This was a huge reality check .

Bruce_Miller 04-06-2005 12:43 PM

That's sad news, sorry to hear that. Good luck with quiting, and especially with the new healthy lifestyle.

Better late than never. Too bad about the now fatherless kids

tASSy 04-06-2005 12:52 PM

my thoughts go to his family and friends today, it really puts life in perspective when you lose someone. it starts a life re-evaluation process for some of us, which is active thought, that can't be bad.

*hugs*

KB,

Sorry to hear about that bro.

Its scarry but you are correct in choosing to take charge and get healthy. Cigs are bad. Sometime all we need is a little wakeup call. Sorry it came in this form.

I am sorry to hear about your friend sweety. Sometimes we need those wake up calls to make changes we have known we needed to make for some time.

Now stop leaving your brother hanging and call him!
