How the fuck can people leave for work at 5 am?

I just got home from being out all night and was driving home at 5am and there was traffic everywhere! the highway was busy like it was 5 pm.
this is ridiculous, i cant belive so many people leave for work so early in the morning. I thought people dont even wake up until like 6:30.
I do feel good though that im not one of those suckers that has to get out of bed so early to go to some shit job.

bangman 04-06-2005 03:38 AM

I sort of miss set working times...
It was great waking up at 8a or so, working till 5p or so and then relaxing or whatever the rest of my waking time. Nowadays I wake up somewhere between 1p and 12p and go to bed somewhere between 1p to 12p. All I do is sit here and work...20 hours straight sometimes. I can never go out and mess around anymore..i'm always wondering how business is doing without me. Haha.
I guess it's a hand-off for the income and flexability.

xclusive 04-06-2005 03:38 AM

I hate when I stay out too late and catch the morning traffic

Good thing, I work from 5AM to 11PM so I miss that heinous traffic congestion.

InkedUpMess 04-06-2005 05:00 AM

ozmatt 04-06-2005 06:17 AM

been working til 5 or 6am for too long now and i am getting sick of trying to sleep when its complete daylight outside.. so trying to change my sleeping patterns, but its so much easier to work late at night, too many distractions in the day :)

Roby 04-06-2005 06:20 AM

yes hard situatuation...

Spunky 04-06-2005 06:21 AM

Gotta pay the bills somehow..It sucks but that's life..It wouldn't kill you to do some manual labour...builds character

serguei 04-06-2005 06:22 AM

5am it is too bad for me the first 5 minutes... After that I see my computer and all OK!
But 7am much better for me... :-)

LadyMischief 04-06-2005 06:24 AM

When I was working training horses I had to be up for 4 to be at work for 5 am. Oftentimes I wouldn't leave work until 9 pm or later.

Tom_PM 04-06-2005 06:27 AM

Yeah 5am is pretty darn early..I used to get on the road by 7:15 or so. Now I get up maybe 7:45 or so to make it online by 9, lol.
When I worked a late shift at an old photo-lab job, it was very odd getting off work at sunrise and finding a place to get a pizza for "dinner".
I tell ya when you work odd hours, you realise that 99% of people dont give a damn and will be noisy as hell when you're in the middle of your sleep cycle. It's just much easier setting your hours at 9 to 5..

KRL 04-06-2005 06:30 AM

Even worse are people that commute like 1 to 2 hours each way.

It takes me only 6 minutes to get to my offices.

I am out to the gym at 5:00am and off to work by 7:00am :(

SaintElGrouch 04-06-2005 07:50 AM

I hate working the graveyard shifts, I was much happier when I got up to go to work around 5 am. Sometime it's real hard to fall asleep when you've been in the darkness while you're awake and then try to sleep when it's light outside.

JamesK2 04-06-2005 07:52 AM

discipline :winkwink:

Dalai lama 04-06-2005 07:53 AM

BV 04-06-2005 07:58 AM

Dam Jahovas woke me up at 10 thismorning beating on my door.

I'm not very pleasant when I first wake up.

They didn't stay long.

MandyBlake 04-06-2005 09:55 AM

well when your job starts at 730 or 830 am and you live far out then that makes sense.

LMFAO fucking roosters

PhotoGreggXXX 04-06-2005 10:36 AM

Call me old-fashioned, but I still get up at 4am and do the computer work at home. Hit the studio around 9am or so and come home when we're done shooting to do some more computer work until 7-8pm.

StuartD 04-06-2005 10:37 AM

I wake up every morning around 6:30 am and drive myself to the fridge for some milk. Then I drive over to the couch where I grab my laptop and start the work day. Commuting that far sucks but at least there's no traffic... unless my gf is out of the shower by then.

PS
Birds rock in the morning... I am feeding them in winter so they come and sing always to me.. and do not fear me, blackbirds e.g. are waiting at my door for their winter fruits etc.
