Good program to open huge files (3 GB)
 

A program like notepad is needed, that can handle such sizes. Anyone?

haha i tried to copy and paste a drop list into notepad... i learned my lesson :)

try a program called "editpad lite" -- it may work but 3gig is huge. worth a shot

i used wordpad... but.... i don't know about 3 gigs... thats fucking massive

I've opened up large files... but nothing as large as 3gb. Worth a shot!

the thing is its not a text file but a format no editor will know

notepad usually has no problems with that, but I'm not so sure about other programs

I would try a screwdriver then

try splitting the list up a little bit maybe 3 1 gig files

how, without opening it?

Not sure if this would work but could be worth a try

ZIP it and then split the zip .... winzip can do this

Then open each zip seperatly.... as its data and not code it shouldnt corrupt

PS. Or import into a MySql DB and run queries to split it

I've opened mp3s and huge database dumps in ultraedit before without it crashing (unlike wordpad), I know it works pretty well :)
