Good program to open huge files (3 GB)

A program like notepad is needed, that can handle such sizes. Anyone?

Thanks in advance.

try a program called "editpad lite" -- it may work but 3gig is huge. worth a shot

Project-Shadow 04-06-2005 04:45 AM

Ultraedit.com

I've opened up large files... but nothing as large as 3gb. Worth a shot!

Rhesus 04-06-2005 04:50 AM

the thing is its not a text file but a format no editor will know

notepad usually has no problems with that, but I'm not so sure about other programs

pornstar2pac 04-06-2005 04:57 AM

I would try a screwdriver then

xclusive 04-06-2005 05:14 AM

try splitting the list up a little bit maybe 3 1 gig files

Not sure if this would work but could be worth a try

ZIP it and then split the zip .... winzip can do this

Then open each zip seperatly.... as its data and not code it shouldnt corrupt

Good luck

PS. Or import into a MySql DB and run queries to split it

I've opened mp3s and huge database dumps in ultraedit before without it crashing (unlike wordpad), I know it works pretty well :)

LadyMischief 04-06-2005 07:01 AM

Textpad

Or look for a txt file splitter on download.com and do many parts with the big file

poorwebmaster 04-06-2005 08:57 AM

Notepad will perform an illegal operation if you use it.

Adultnet 04-06-2005 09:24 AM

maybe word ?

mrthumbs 04-07-2005 06:39 AM

wordpad.. no joke.
