Euro/Dollar Question
Is the Euro stronger than the dollar? If so how long has it been that way?
|
Yes and I don't know how long!

It falls over 4 years. Euro used to be weaker than dollar. Now its approximately 1.33:1
I already moved most of my traffic to the european sponsors. |

If memory serves I think the $/Euro was launched at 1.18 in Jan '99 and went to approx 0.80 by '02 and then back to 1.00 (ie parity) in mid/late 02 and up to 1.3 now. |
It sucks if you get paid in dollars and live in europe. It was great when the euro came but nowadays it is totally crap, hope it will get any better soon allthough I doubt it.

From This Balance:
U.S. Dollar Balance Amount: $650.00 USD Exchange Rate: 1 U.S. Dollar = 0.761085 Euros Gross Amount: ?494.70 EUR Fuck it! |
Here's the relative strength graph since '99:
http://www.hhole.com/since99.gif Still, what he was asking is 'how strong' it was vs. the dollar, and a large part of strength is current trend. Over the last 4 years, the trend of the euro is strong vs. the USD (static-to-modest growth vs. other world currencies). A wise investor would take note that while some of euro's growth is due to solid fiscals on europe's part, it's also due to pisspoor performance of the greenback. Solution....

There are enough online credit processors that it's not a worry. But getting some place to put your money can be a bitch. |
