Anyone's Site Get Hacked Today???

Mine did. Two of my sites were hacked and pages replaced with a "Owned By CTR" page..

Im wondering if this was widespread, or an isolated incident where my programer's PC or laptop was stolen or something and some kids ftped to my server to fuck around..

Two of my sites were hacked, and who ever did it used the username and password to get in. Nothing trickey..

And my programers site on his server was hacked also.

But ive found some people who have had this same hack done to em today-yesterday..

now im just trying to see what we have in common in terms of scripts and people who have had access to our servers.

have smokey do some penetration testing, a network audit on your servers. a whole assesment.

ok.. we've pretty much confirmed what happened.

My programer's security was breached.. All of his clients logins, and passwords somehow got into someone's hands..

Now my server tech is looking into what all these guys did with it.

BUt id still like to shoot the shit and talk with smokey sometime.

I simply asked because usually a hacker uses the same "owned" type message on all the sites he/she "owns" . I looked that one up on google and didn't get one hit , so i simply asked if those were the exact words , . By this i meant that possibly they had used numbers instead of letters.

Some people's problem is they read too far into things.

Heres an example

Do a search on google for

"owned by fr4ud3"

then do a search for

"0wned by fr4ud3"

Thats why one might ask exactly what the message left on a defaced site is.And any other letters, etc

Not only might it show the group responsible , but many times it will show you the software that is vulnerable simply by cross referencing the hack with other sites also hacked using the same software :)

Quenching my daily reading thurst I inadvertently stumbled upon this tib bit of informaton that may be helpful for those involved..
I pray they do not vandalize my possessions..
