How can I make an MP3 sound better?
I got a low quality mp3 how can I make it better, even if it takes 10x more space

I don't think its possible to improve the sound quality as MP3 is a fixed compression algo, higher bit-rate would definitely improve things but presonally I think MP3 sound quality sux.
One interesting thing however, is that it should only be used with low quality audio components - any high-end specialist gear will expose the flaws. I got my portable MP3 to sound a bit better by changing earphones (just trial and error as some of the better ones just make things worse). MP3 is also more suited to music with a pronounced and simple rhythm, music with complex harmonies etc gets butchered. |

Once something is compressed at a lower bitrate, you cannot 'unpack' it to get a higher quality unfortunately. It's a one way street. Perfect example is if you open a small sound file [2-3 seconds long] into windows sound editor, increase the speed 4-5 times.. then slow it down the quality is butchered.
