they test you at adult conventions - those that fail goto bed before 5am

When you graduate college.

why not try a random search on that?

When you wake up with the shakes after you go drinking.

When you crave a drink 1st thing in the morning.

When you can't have fun without alcohol.

When you drink alone.

When you say "I'm never drinking again" constantly.

These are a few good signs...

What if you do that because everyone else has "normal" jobs and you get bored?

When drinking interferes with your obligations / job / family / etc.

"Social drinking" alone is fine, but I guess it's not social any more since you're alone. It's when you're getting drunk out of your mind alone that you have a problem.

if you can stay without drink for 3 weeks, without having any physical problems (headaches, body shaking etc.) , than you are not an alcoholic.
