The question:

How many 5 year-olds could you take on at once?

The specifics:

• You are in an enclosed area, roughly the size of a basketball court. There are no foreign objects.
• You are not allowed to touch a wall.
• When you are knocked unconscious, you lose. When they are all knocked unconscious, they lose. Once a kid is knocked unconscious, that kid is "out."
• I (or someone else intent on seeing to it you fail) get to choose the kids from a pool that is twice the size of your magic number. The pool will be 50/50 in terms of gender and will have no discernable abnormalities in terms of demographics, other than they are all healthy Canadians
• The kids receive one day of training from hand-to-hand combat experts who will train them specifically to team up to take down one adult. You will receive one hour of "counter-tactics" training.
• There is no protective padding for any combatant other than the standard-issue cup.
• The kids are motivated enough to not get scared, regardless of the bloodshed. Even the very last one will give it his/her best to take you down.

I set my magic number at 30, but upon reflection, I think I could take on a few more. How many could you take on?

hmmm. I'd aim for about 35 of them. If there's no biting - 45.

A few 3-4 before I went unconcious from groin and knee hits.

well.... i need some way to boost my ego... fighting online isn't cutting it.. i need some physical violence to make me think i'm hardcore.... and what better physical violence then beating up 5 year olds where there chances of getting hurt are minimal.....

dude 40-55 is a lot man.. if they all like grabbed on to some of your clothing etc.... would be really difficult

Cause a lot of them wouldn't be able to reach you at once.. maybe 5-6 at one time.. not enough to pull you down..
and it wouldn't take too many hits to put a 5-year old under...
Basically, just keep on hitting until you're too tired to hit :)

You could probably take one out with one punch though, a hard enough blow. once they start ganging up and attacking in groups it would be harder though

i bet i could take on an infinite amount....think about it, 5 year olds? you know how little they are? you can knock them over by bumping them with your ass....i'm sure it wouldn't be hard to break any of their necks with a nice kick...of course if they're swarming all over you, thats a bit harder, but still....its not like they could really hurt a grown up with punches or kicks

you grab one by the feet and start swinging it around in big circles. You should be safe.

The only way I would go down is from gassing out, I think after clobbering betweend 35-45 of them I would be breathing heavy and succeptable to an offensive from the 5 year olds.

Since by your rules you have to 'knock them out' you would probably lose when your fists hurt too bad to hit someone that hard.

you could use the palm of your hand, or throw kicks since they will all be really short anyways

that would be pretty effective

your best bet, if overcome by the crowd, would be to leap into the air and run across their heads like sheep till you reach the outer perimeter, then begin destroying their outer flank with powerful sweeping kicks.

If they were anything like my 5 year old son I couldnt take more than 4.... my boy is seriously tough and has a fucking mean right hook(which happens to be right at groin level)

Your best bet is to run around since 5 year olds aren't fast or elusive on their feet. The only way they can defeat you is by bringing you to the ground.

If you could just keep running around, kicking random 5 year olds in the head as you ran by, you could take out many.

See, I'd say 50 but the more you take out in the beginning, the better chance for survival.

I wouldn't punch any because your legs are the most powerful weapons on your body. I'd simply kick them in the head. One shot and they are done.
