What software eats more resourses: AWstats or Webalizer ?

Exactly...while I like WebAlizer it is kinda old and more limited and less organized AWstats

Webalizer is faster

i've only tried awstats, but like it's already been said it doesnt really matter considering they both only run once a day

True, but its less detailed...plus if you have notice a big speed difference bettewn both of them you need to do some hardware upgrades ;) :thumbsup

Urchin is the best.. but if you want any of the above, go with awstats.

webalizer eats a shitload when your logs get into the 20 gig mark :)

YARGH! I use urchin first, webalizer second.

Webalizer it's so outdated now it's almost worthless. The only advantage over Awstats is that it breaks down SE results by term and engine. But then given how long since it's been updated they're not that accurate anyway.

I wanted to unload the server a bit.

A few high traffic domains on awstats cause problems.
