Kiss or die...

Only in America...

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/04/02/kil....ap/index.html

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (AP) -- For Elisa Hernandez, no meant no -- and a tragic death at age 15.

When a frustrated suitor named Alfred Bishop asked her for a kiss, she refused him. Again and again, he asked. She said no. When he pulled out a revolver and pointed at her head, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey Blitz said, she pushed it away.

"She laughed him off," Blitz said.

The rejection cost her: After being rebuffed, Bishop shot her through the eye, cutting short the life of a bubbly, self-assured high school sophomore who loved hip-hop and dancing and went by "Lisa," according to authorities.

It has nothing to do with every one in the states having a gun, it has nothing to do with mexicans or cubans or latins at all. It has to do with the fact that the kids are rasising themselves on the streets. There are no parents any more.

Ouch, that's fucked up...

Thank you for posting that.

People kill people. Inanimate objects don't.

In this case, like so many others, I think parents should be held to blame almost as much as their twisted offspring which they raised and help influence.

true, but it's kinda hard to shoot somebody in the face when you don't have a gun.

In which case he would have used fists/ a knife/ strangulation/ etc.

The point is he wanted to kill her. Doesn't matter how he did it.

not so sure.

a gun kills in a second. It's one shot, one bullet and it's over.
with other methods somebody can intervene or the victim can run or fight back. I am not sure he would have stabbed her in the eye, or killed her with one stab to the chest.

I must say that the invention of gunpowder has made it easier to kill people, as many other inventions - such as steel over iron, iron over wood, blunted wood objects over fists (to be totally basic on the subject).

Just because a device exists that facilitates an "easier" act of murder, doesn't make that device any more wrong to have been created. The actor was there to create the action regardless of the device used.

The actor being human and flawed. And flawed by negligence in upbringing and poor environment.
