goldman 04-02-2005 03:14 AM

about spending in tahiland.. do u guys think i should brink cash and open up a bank account or is having just a visa good enough??...(offcourse i will have change for the day to day shit)....

goldman 04-02-2005 03:16 AM

it looks like i could spend my entire month in bangkok

Krille 04-02-2005 03:17 AM

just use your visa in atms to get cash, no point of opening a bankaccount for one months stay, my bank required me to have a permanent adress to open an account so a hotel wont do

goldman 04-02-2005 03:29 AM

damn.... i dont think i can wait.....
this is going to kill me....waiting.......

krille are u a webmaster living and working in thailand?

MBS Auto 04-02-2005 03:43 AM

Dalai lama 04-02-2005 04:00 AM

going to thailand every year for 4 years in a row and i love it :) Go to pattaya :upsidedow

Dopy 04-02-2005 04:00 AM

I have a 2 bed luxury condo for rent on Jomtien Beach near Pattaya. Available April 22 ? May 15 susan.ph at gmail.com

But my advice to you is get yourself down South and take advantage of the crazy low prices. Everyone is desperate for business and you would be doing them a favour too.

If you are only interested in fucking drinking and making a noise then stay in Bangkok for the month.

goldman 04-02-2005 04:10 AM

i think will stay 3-4 days in bangkok then travel and if i really like it then stay a few more days in bangkok before i leave.. i want to hitch hike every inch of thailand...

p.s. i am also going to goa after that..

goldman 04-02-2005 04:12 AM

pattaya and phi phi island are at the top of the list.. plus i want to spend half my time in places which are not ful;l of tourists.. get the real experience

andrej_NDC 04-02-2005 04:18 AM

hit up bluff, he can recommend you some good hookers :)

goldman 04-02-2005 04:23 AM

i worked out my financial situatin i have 2000 nz dollars to spend.. which is equal to 54,000 thai baht....
the question is how to spend it........

54 k Baht is a bit tight for a month if thats got to cover hotels too.
Places like Pattaya will eat your money. Go south and get some hot deals.

Take a 5 day jungle tour with a private guide in Chiang Mai/Burma, no one takes that tour, you will so no tourists at all. You go to villages where they havent see tourists within a year or so, you will experience the true thai feeling. I booked that tour at Greenwood travel, if you need a office go to
Adres: 488/800 Bo Bae Tower - Damrongrak Road - Bangkok ( better known as the Prince Palace Hotel, at the 14th floor ) It's a dutch company but they do business with any tourist. Good prices too, i suggest you to take the night train this will safe you a whole day of your vacation ( if you take the morning train you will arive at midnight )

Seriously, if you do not like tourist, do that trip. If you are going anytime soon be sure to take your rain coat and look out for leechs !!

:thumbsup

i have reserves if need be.

basically i am backpacking except maybe in bangkok or pattaya.. so i dont think it will be to expensive in other parts as some places the accomodation (i dont mind sharing) is only 200 baht... i am a student i am expected to sepend a few nights on the side of the street...

maybe i will increase my budget.. i am not too worried i just want a healthy reserve incase i lose shit or get into trouble etc..

I dont know them offhand but have probably passed or looked at them while searching for places. If you are looking for a place in Jomtien then spend at least a month there looking around.

If you need a rock solid Thai lawyer who will not rip you off.

Dutchanee Srivicha
Pensit & Laws
279/13-14 Somprasong Plaza,
Jomtien Beach Road,
Banglamung
Chonburi 20150
+66 382333912

She can also give advice about the place you are looking at.

If you are backpacking and streetwise then 54k will be more than enough.
Theres a train goes from Bangkok Stn to Pattaya every day at 07:30. It costs 38 Bhat :)

its amazing the how different the prices are.. even after traveling i never get over it..

i mean i pay 7$ for a stubby most nites in a bar out here.. compared to that 2 bucks is nothing..

my plans simple spend up large in the cities be a backpacker while moving through everywhere else... and also less of a tourist prick who patronise locals...

Fully re-furbished studio appartment in managed complex with pool would cost around 800k Baht. A friend of mine has just purchased one.

I paid 1.5 million Baht for my 2 bed condo in 2003 and spent about 1 million on the re-ferb. Its now worth about 4.5 million Baht

You can legally own a condo in Thailand, houses are a little more complex and require a holding company - a change in the law could cause problems but I doubt the Thais would be dumb enough to let that happen.

Dopy 04-02-2005 05:40 AM

For those interested this is probably the most knowledgeable board for Thailand

hmmm thats not too bad.. especially since my porn career is kicking in gear it sounds like a good investment.. considering i spend nearly the equivalent of
225k baht on just rent sharing a house with four guys.. getting a morgage and paying it off would'nt be too hard..

shit i feel ripped off
