Why is everyone praying for the pope?

There will just be another one anyway . and another .. and another .. another.

So how many days until some new guy becomes infallible?

pornstar2pac 04-01-2005 06:42 PM

media has more power then you think

nofx 04-01-2005 06:42 PM

This pope was pretty cool. He was a normal person except he really loved God. He even telephone Matt Parker to thank him for sending him South Park episodes and laughed with him about the giant spyder in it.

All in all he... he never tried to bomb any countries Just shook his head and prayed.

pornstar2pac 04-01-2005 06:53 PM

The pope is the one who atrted the whole bulletproof car craze

sweetcuties 04-01-2005 07:00 PM

Now that Schiavo is dead, the media needs something new to get idiots exicted about. Jerry Falwell had bad timing or he could have been the next big death.

I couldn't agree more.. well said

tony286 04-01-2005 07:22 PM

All this has made me have serious doubts about all these believers. If they truly believe in God and the paradise of Heaven they should be celebrating for him. Not praying for him to live. All the pope said he wanted to be kept alive on machines. Now this is supposed to be Gods boy on earth and he is afraid to die. I dont understand

Lester 04-01-2005 08:01 PM

I'm catholic (I guess)
But i don't understand why we're praying for the guy who's supposed to be the spokesman for the Catholic people.

He knows and everyone knows he's going to die.

What is everyone praying for???
Safe passage???
I would think the Pope's covered.....

whatever....

chupacabra 04-01-2005 08:04 PM

satan is to us, for the first time in history... a bishop of rome.

Nysus 04-01-2005 08:06 PM

Didn't he say at one point that he thought Bush could be the Anti-Christ?

Matt

hydro 04-01-2005 08:07 PM

Well you need to look at it from a different point of view. That man is looked up to by millions of catholics across the globe. If your atheist or just not a very religious person you really don't mind but to people who have a strong belief in god its pretty sad.

warlock5 04-01-2005 08:07 PM

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Roman Catholics around the world waited and prayed as Pope John Paul slid toward death on Saturday after a 26-year reign that helped undermine Soviet communism and vigorously upheld long-standing Vatican doctrines.

Tens of thousands of faithful staged an emotional vigil in St Peter's Square deep into the night after Vatican officials said the 84-year-old Pope's health was fading fast.

"Stay with us. Don't leave us," the crowds chanted, many people weeping uncontrollably as they stared up at the Papal apartments, where just two lights blazed.

There is a reason he is/was pope and they aren't.

painintheass 04-01-2005 11:03 PM

When my father died I prayed like crazy. Yes I wanted him to live but that was because I didn't him to leave me.

In the end I was praying for me, not him.

On the other hand my father prayed because he looked back at his life and there was so many things he felt he left unfinished or should have said. He was scared that God was going to be angry with him.

In the end he knew he was dying and he was praying to stay because he thought he was still needed by everyone around him.

They are all praying because just like www.almightycontent.com the Pope is "on a mission from God".

Because when a pedophile priest was found he over saw the system of moving them to a new parish and keeping the whole thing quiet. So the abuser could carry on.

A true man of God would of done his best to stop the abuse, a head of a corporation would of done his best to hide the facts.

Also with millions of babies being born in poverty and dying early, the AIDS epidemic reaching terrible numbers in many Catholic countries he still came out against the use of condoms.

Plus the cannonisation of men who built churches using slave labour, as in So Cal.

He was just cool because he flew around the world trying to shore up falling numbers of worshippers. What exactly did he do that was GOOD?

its just true that people who work for a church (priests and shit), plus the extreme christian families, think its normal to have pedophile tendencies.

Just check out the papers, 90% of the child molesters is a member of the pope's cult in one way or the other.

(In the dutch papers the remaining 10% are always belgians :1orglaugh)

Isn't that always the way. When religious people fall ill, they dont pray, they run to a medical doctor.

He is just a Pope, a human being like you and me. He IS NOT GOD!

loverboy 04-02-2005 10:33 AM

think about how many billions of people praying and united at this very moment.

MetaformX 04-02-2005 10:35 AM

People consider The pope to be a great man, no matter what your religious beliefs are.

Head 04-02-2005 11:11 AM

I don't agree with must of the Catholic church (being Catholic) but he's been the best Pope and was always an Advocate for peace.
