Do you have a hay fever?

That shit is killing me!!! I admit that I haven't seen a doctor about it in the last 10 years, but I saw dozen of them when I was a kid.

What do you guys use, is there something really good that you're taking?

p.s.

When I Google hay fever I get only 4 sponsored links ----> adwords ----> bling bling ;)

I used to get it pretty bad, but the last year or 2 it's mellowed out..

I've done 3 things that may have contributed to the lessing of its affects...

1) Use local honey
2) Occasionally eat a batch of this mung bean soup that supposedly helps
(lots of onion, garlic, tumeric, etc...)
3) Take some dosing of stinging nettle around that time of the year
4) Do some herbal colon cleansing program about 2 times a year
5) Severly limit dairy intake, except live yogurt

I don't know if it's any one or a combination of the above, but my hayfever/allergies are almost not noticeable compared to what they were just 3 years ago...

Anyways, heres a brief read on some alternative health methods to dealing with it...google or vivisimo.com it a bit harder and you'll find a lot of common themes or things to try

Antonio,

Today, most people don't refer to it as Hay Fever (hence the few adwords on google). People just consider it to be allergies.

I take Claritin-D (it's an over the counter 24 hour relief antihistamine) which works the best for me. It isn't a silver bullet, but it does alleviate many of the symptoms. I did try taking the standard Claritin which is the 12 hour dose, but it didn't work nearly as well.

Have you tried Claritin?

I've tied almost any pill they sell in the pharmacies, I'll Googloe Claritin and see if they sell it under the same name here in South Africa.

The problem is that in any 'noraml' country you get four seasons and the hay fever hits you only in the beginning of the Spring, South Africa is GREEN 365 days a year.

I'm dying here, I can only sit for a few minutes and I have to retire to the couch for serious misery wallowing.

I feel your pain.
