Why are they praying that the pope lives?

Surely it doesnt matter if he dies as he is guaranteed a place in heaven? If heaven really exists they should be happy that he is dying?

Anyone reckon the pope maybe thinking "Please let me have choosen the right reglion and dont let there be a bunch of fucking pissed off muslims up there"
