INDUSTRY SCAM ALERT ? I and most likely others got taken.

This is a difficult post for me to make because I?m embarrassed, humiliated and angry but I?m honor bound to warn you all about what happened. I was scammed out of 4000 dollars and I just found out that other people have been getting hit as well.

The short version of the story is that a guy on ICQ that goes by King Fuck and tells you his real name is Jeremy talked me into sending him money for prepaid joins to our sponsor program. I asked him if he had references and he mentioned Greg Dumas who many of you know is as good of a reference as you can get. He told me he?d have Greg contact me. A gregduma4981 on AIM hit me up and vouched for him. Funny thing is that it wasn?t the real Greg. I sent the money and lost the money.

This guy clearly knows Greg and knows the industry. I swear I talked to who I thought was Greg for 20 minutes and never put it together and I know Greg! This happened last week and I?ve been just patiently waiting for the joins. Last night at the Phoenix Forum I had dinner with Greg and asked him how Australia was. He told me he?s never been to Australia and I knew right there in a second that I had been scammed.

I won?t post the names of the other companies that got taken because I don?t know if they want it disclosed but Greg and I thought I?d be best to get the word out to you all as fast as possible.

Other information that might help you is that I sent it via Western Union to an Allison Greenberg in Fort Lauderdale who would have used 2 forms of government issued identification to pick that much money. I don?t know if it is someone that he knows or some hooker off the street that he got to do the dirty work but I know that person exists. I seriously doubt he had two fake IDs.

Ive gotten ICQ's from king fuck before but never once have I replied to him. sorry to hear about this scam, hope he gets whats coming to him.

We'll I probably would have if I didn't get an AIM prompt on my screen. Naturally upon hindsite I can see lots of clues that add to my embarassment.

wouldn't surprise me if this was a jeff cooper job just because of his icq name King Fuck is something he would probably use.

At the very least contact Western Union and file a complaint so that person will not be able to use their service any more. You can get people blackballed from western union. :2 cents:

We'll be filing criminal charges. This is a federal crime because it cross inter-state commerce borders.

Well I hope the best, though I have gotten several large western unions before without showing any ID and or just one form. Hell they did not really even look at it anyways, just asked if I had ID and I opened the wallet and showed it to them through the glass (check cashing place).

Only time I was really checked out was when I went to pick up 3 WU's from different people all sent same day, each for over 3k.

Not that many "Allison Greenberg" show up in Florida...

it is worthless
they will tell you to contact your attorney general who never returns any calls

hmm, it happened to me once and they were pretty good about it. They already had a file on the guy though. After my complaint, they stopped letting him use the service. That's WU in Canada, I don't know if it works the same way in the US.

If you spend a little money to make a case out of it, i'm sure the WU station has security cameras and they can be turned over to the police. If you are quick about it that is.... they will probably record over the tape after a week or so

King Foo is Eric Suchomski if i'm not mistaken and last I heard was in police custody.. pimpdog would probably know more about that I think he had dealing with him.... as above it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it wasn't Jeff Cooper as well... he's a shithead

Has anyone double checked where it was actually picked up at?
I ask, cause even if you put out a given payout location, that is only an expected one and it still can be picked up elsewhere.

When you do a lot of big deals, eventually you get burned. Sometimes you have to take risks. The key is to not let the scammers get away with it, which by the sounds of it, Rick isn't. :thumbsup

Sorry to hear that this happend. But dont feel embarrassed, humiliated, but do feel angry. It happens to a lot pf people.
