CDSmith 04-01-2005 08:08 AM

Please don't hate me.

LauraLee 04-01-2005 08:09 AM

i do tdf, what's the dealio?

Meta Ridley 04-01-2005 08:10 AM

i do all the time,, circulates the air and the white noise blocks out other noises

Tom_PM 04-01-2005 08:10 AM

They get used to the soothing sound of it. One of my brothers is like that. He graduated from running his fan to using a "sleep machine" that generates several soothing sounds.

Kapitan Ivanov II 04-01-2005 08:11 AM

I have many fans. I can't kill them all every night before I sleep.

Exactly...we even travel with our fan :)

GatorB 04-01-2005 08:13 AM

I do even in the winter. It creataes what they call "hwite noise" it drowns out most of the other sounds yet you basically ignore it's own sound.

CDSmith 04-01-2005 08:13 AM

If you count the TWO in my computer, I have 4 going at all times :D

dude, my house was built in 1914, it has those old hot water rads for heat, no forced air.... thus no air circulation. In winter it's too cold to open a window, so.....

it's fan city baby.

Evil Chris 04-01-2005 08:18 AM

Hubby loves having a fan directed right on him at night....i HATE the damn thing....marriage is about give and take...so he gets his fan and I learn to leave with the stupid thing.

TDF 04-01-2005 08:25 AM

thats what I dont understand..maybe shes immune to it but theres no way I could sleep under a huge fan nightly

Tipsy 04-01-2005 08:30 AM

There's companies around that sell white noise CD's to help you relax and sleep. From fans and air conditioning unit noises to vacuum cleaner sounds.

I use one in the summer time, helps out alot.

loverboy 04-01-2005 08:45 AM

this is one hot summer, fans don't even help
had some problems sleeping the past couple of days

CS-Jay 04-01-2005 08:49 AM

Man, nothings better to sleep than in Florida, in the middle of the summer. To get the ac down to 68 and kick the fan on high, and curl up under a thick ass blanket. Now that's the shizzle.

jimmyf 04-01-2005 08:51 AM

i have a fan on 24/7 all year

Furious_Male 04-01-2005 08:53 AM

One of my buddies uses a fan all the time. One night he crashed at my house in the family room. I was sleeping and heard noise in my garage. I ran downstairs to see what the fuck he was doing. Turned out he found an old fan of mine and was using my tools and shit to fix it (mind you this is the middle of the night). He couldnt sleep without a fan. Tripped me out.

CDSmith 04-01-2005 08:56 AM

Well yeah, unless it's sweltering heat you don't have the fan blowing directly at you. I keep mine pointed toward my bedroom door to circulate the air through the house, and I keep it on low.

In the summer I put on the A/C, no real need for the fan then.

At first I thought you were talking about sleeping with your fans. You're a star you know.

Holly 04-01-2005 02:14 PM

Oh, I'm totally addicted to fans. I can't sleep without the noise. I even have this little 10 inch deal I take with me when I travel, lol. I don't have it blowing on me, though. I point it out the door.

It drove my exhusband crazy at first, but he eventually got hooked and now he sleeps with one at his house, too.

...and I wanted to look through your windows while you're sleeping. :Graucho

xNetworx 04-01-2005 02:51 PM

I always sleep with my fan on... and it helps when my room smells like budussy.

There are definitely two camps on this one-the must haves and the WTF's?

We have an industrial fan turned up onn high to drown out the woodpecker who has made his home outside our bedroom window. He definitely subscribes to the "early bird catches the worm" theory

pornguy 04-01-2005 03:06 PM

We use the fan at night only when my wife is hot. She is pregnant, and seems like she is always hot.,

BlackCrayon 04-01-2005 03:47 PM

blame my parents but i find like others have said, it blocks out all the annoying noises of the city. usually im sleeping while ppl are going to work and there is a parking lot right next to my bedroom window.
