They like to use their feet.

r3ap3r 03-31-2005 11:04 PM

Regular boxing is boring. We like to fly in the air and use swords.

What the hell are you talking about?

Boxing is a very popular sport in Thailand. In fact, they have boxing celebrities out there. Because they have their own leagues and are unknown in America doesn't mean that they don't exist.

I can't believe boxing is still legal in the US

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 03-31-2005 11:13 PM

There are many good Asian boxers, however most of them are in the lower weight classes, so you don't hear as much about them.

Japan, Thailand and the Philippines consistently have boxers as champions or ranked in the top 10 in the lower weight classes.

The major boxing organizations are located in the U.S. and Europe, which also puts Asian boxers at a disadvantage inasmuch as pro boxing is not generally regarded as the cleanest and fairest sport there is.

You could turn that around and ask why Asians dominate most martial arts sports that originated in Asia, or whose sports councils are headquarted in Asian countries.

Boxing is fun there is no reason to make it illegal

Nismo 03-31-2005 11:23 PM

What are you smoking?

Boxing is a way of life in Thailand. Little kids grow up and all they do is train in muay thai as soon as they're able to walk.

There are many different styles of boxing. Their styles aren't popular here.

You're ignorant as fuck.

imafuckingaussie 03-31-2005 11:24 PM

Would it have something to do with their physical makeup and stength?

Morgan 03-31-2005 11:25 PM

They made it illegal after Bruce's 3" power punch.

wargames 03-31-2005 11:27 PM

The Philippines has good boxers.

zzgundamnzz 03-31-2005 11:34 PM

When I was 14-15 years old, me and a group of friends would go out in my backyard, put on winter gloves, and have boxing matches. Boxing is fun as shit as long as you're winning the fight :1orglaugh

Pacquiao is a monster! I don't recall the name of the opponent, but I watched him flat-out dismantle a guy 8ish months ago.
