Just watched the documentary "Supersize me"...

... pretty insane.

If you haven't seen it, it's about a guy who, after two ultra-chubby teenage girls sued McDonalds Corp. back in 2003 for "making them fat", decides to eat nothing but McDonald's food for an entire month. He gets three different doctors involved in monitoring his stats, and at the same time he does an in-depth study on obesity America. You should see the changes this guy goes through, it's incredible.

All I can say is.... I am never eating McDeath's again. :helpme

Okay I am, but never more than about once a month, if that. Which, by the way, is my usual fast food frequency. WEll, except for pizza delivery. That doesn't count though..... right? ha ha

I recommend watching "Supersize me" though. Very enlightening.

I liked it, but at the same time, i felt that guy was a huge drama queen.. So i found it hard to believe alot of the shit.

He was selling you a story the guy was a comedian and had a girlfrind that fed him only veggies before that you figure out wether this is typical.

I said I enjoyed it, not that I bought into it hook line and sinker.

However, if you think eating fast food even once a week is a good idea you're, well, out to lunch.

that movie was dumb and could be applied to any fucking restaurant.

I could eat Chinese food for a month and get fat, or italian food and get fat.
It doesn't matter.

I should make a fucking movie of me eating at McDonald's and loosing weight. I'd be fucking rich!

have to agree a little bit on that...his drama queenness detracted from the credibility of the shit he was portraying which I believe to be true...

...that most fast food is really just tastey cardboard that's of negative nutritional value...

He singled out McD's because at the time there was a big flap going on over that frivolous lawsuit by those two obese girls.

I have noticed that since that film was made we've seen Wendy's now offering side choices other than just fries with their combos, and McD's now has salads... although their salads have as much fat in them as a Big Mac. :1orglaugh

Since decent chinese food has a lot of fresh greens and vegetables in their dishes I would tend to disagree there. But over all I'd say yes, eating constantly at any fast food restaurant would be eventual suicide by gluttony.

The film made several good points though about the eating habits and obesity of a good % of Americans.

At that scene during the first week of his binge where he ordered the double-quarter-pounder-with-cheese combo supersized, then had trouble eating it and even barfed out the window of his vehicle..... made me think he was a bit of a wussy. ONE double quarter pounder? Shit, if I was making McD's my choise for dinner, as in my entire supper, I could easily put away two of those plus the fries and drink AND a couple of those little pies for dessert. He wasn't as big as I am but he wasn't exactly a small guy.

Puking was a bit dramatic.

i said i'd never eat it again after watching it, ate it that night lol

hell i'd probably puke eating a supersized meal man... if you're used to eating healthy, your body gets a fucking shocker, it takes time to transform from "healthy" to "unhealthy", and during that transition it is tough.

most americans really do NOT know how bad the food they eat is for them. and if they really knew the full extent of damage it causes over time, McD's would go out of business.

I wouldn't any restaurant..more like any fast food restaurant. I mean, I think people in China more or less eat chinese food everyday and the same thing goes with Italy.

milkit 03-31-2005 10:24 PM

plus he was eating way more than normal. supersizing stuff, stuffing his fucking face until he couldnt move.

you could eat at mcdonalds for a month, and not gain that much weight if you ate a bit healthier, and didnt overeat.

kowntafit 03-31-2005 10:27 PM

I found it particularly interesting that McDonald's Corp. considers you a "heavy user" of their products if you frequent them 1-2 times a week. I could see if you're exercising 3-4 times a week and eating healthy 6 days out of the week THEN one pigout of fast food isn't going to do too much damage..... but most people do neither eat healthy or exercise regularly.
