the referrer info gets lost in the TCP transfer.... the header gets corrupted.

TCP has error correction doesn't it?

there are a lot of logical explanations for this general question such as a stats program not wanting to run serversideincludes for security reasons, or a firewall or other setting in a browser if the surfer is having issues with a leased feed, or can be many many other things...
