Can someone please explain to me PRODUCTIVITY?

So im having a custom top referrer script built and a buddy is telling me to be sure i have productivity added in to it. What is this and how is it measured and tracked - i need to let my programmer know! I have of course heard the term used before and have some idea of what it could mean but i could really use a specific explanation in how to have it incorporated in to my script and how it can be tracked.

a trader sends you a visitor. The number of times that visitor clicks in your page on something is productivity. ( i think )
