Do you guys get married because...

or because you think she would make a good wife and good mother for your kids.

Is there such thing as true love anymore?

What makes you hit the trigger and say, fuck it. I am ready?

xclusive 03-31-2005 01:05 PM

I was ready and My wife was the person I knew I wanted to spend forever with

sickkittens 03-31-2005 01:05 PM

I can't see myself being married.

shermo 03-31-2005 01:07 PM

She's my best friend (other than my childhood best friend), she makes me laugh, I'm attracted to her and we'd do anything for each other. When you have that combo, you know it's the right one. :)

dropped9 03-31-2005 01:09 PM

You just kinda know it really. Before I got married I was with my wife for 11 years.. We are 1 unit.

shuki 03-31-2005 01:09 PM

For me I am looking for a best friend that I can stay attracted to.

mal 03-31-2005 01:20 PM

i'm never getting married

axelcat 03-31-2005 01:23 PM

Its all about starting a family

Take your time, no rush. A real good woman is hard to find.

Many, well most women get very lazy once they get a ring. Look around, how many happy married friends do you have?

BradShaw 03-31-2005 01:50 PM

Out of all the people I know married, I would say only 2-3 of them are really happy. The others are just buying time.

psili 03-31-2005 01:57 PM

Figured I'm sick of the dating scene and can't even imagin trying to put up with another girl's bullshit to realize that she sucks and I'll have to start all over again the next day.

Found a girl whose insanity I can put up with and she can put up with mine, so I said "fuck it" and popped the question. And that the happiness of being with her far outweighs any issues we may have, helps as well.

That's why I am still single. I don't think I have any friends that are still married. Strange.

RRRED 03-31-2005 02:06 PM

There would be way more divorce if it were cheaper.

Good one.

That is also why they say...

Do you know why divorces are so expensive.
Because they are worth it.

Let me grab some popcorn. This could get interesting.

1. Does she know you like her?
2. Did you date her in the Past?
3 Does your best friend know you feel this way towards her?

-=D

Herb Kornfield 03-31-2005 03:16 PM

I met my wife and instantly knew this was the woman I wanted to grow old with and provide for.

6 years in and I still love every second of her being in my life. I love her more than anything else and would do anything to take care of her.

imafuckingaussie 03-31-2005 03:16 PM

Well, I guess it depends on lots of things Dave. I knew my wife for 7 years or something, so it was well past the time, lucky she stayed along that long without getting married. If you live with the person and love them etc for a long period of time (or short), you just do it because it feels right and also the family do have an impact, part of the reason is for the immediate family etc. prenup for you though dude, lol

Screaming 03-31-2005 03:18 PM

nothing heh dont know that marriage is for me but i am in a steady realtionship that i have been in for 6 years now

Yes she knows how I feel about her. We have talked about it.
Never dated her. She's been with the same guy since high school.
No my boy doesn't know. How can you tell you best friend something like that.

Here's a piece of advice that I hope you will not forget:

No matter how "sexy", "funny", and "fun to be around" a woman may seem, someone, somewhere, is sick of her shit.

kowntafit 03-31-2005 06:16 PM

yes i believe there is still such a thing as true love

Jace 03-31-2005 06:22 PM

my wife and I are inseperable...best friends...

that is how you know, you can look at your partner, know you love them and would do anything for them....and consider them your best friend

Robx 03-31-2005 06:26 PM

My wife simply didn't give me a choice :)

for me its when you can honestly say to yourself, "I'll never cheat on her!".
if you can say that its time to take the big step! :thumbsup

crockett 03-31-2005 06:35 PM

That's deep. You don't think she told your friend about it?
Do you think its wrong to your friend?
Will you ever tell him?

beergood 04-01-2005 02:27 PM

I'll probably get married when I get tired of cooking my own food or washing my own clothes. Also when my dog dies I'll need someone else to kick the shit out of. Wife sounds like a good target.

tranza 04-01-2005 02:36 PM

I used to think I was living with the love of my life: http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=451067

But wtf do I know? I'm only 22.

Holly 04-01-2005 02:36 PM

I think I was on crack when I got married. I can't really remember... it's all a blur.

I can't stay single the rest of my life, I would never say that. Look at the biz we are in. That's a tough one.

Semi-Retired-Dave 04-01-2005 02:39 PM

It so sad reading some of your post but yet, they are so true.
What to do, what to do.
