Xbox any good for kids?

Already have playstation2 for my kids, is XBox user friendly for a 7 and 9 year old?

Good games for them, or is it more suited for adults/teens

I know people in the US that own one. Whatever you read about patent issues has been resolved because it was released in the US on March 24th.
