$100 Paypal to who ever can help me solve an Email problem

My main machine..my bread and butter. I been having trouble with OUTGOING emails.

For about a month now, I have had some complaints that I have not returned emails. Ive tested this out in house and its true, ALOT of test email I sent in house never get to the recipient. Ive tested many differnt mail accounts both to and from and the same shit happens.

There are no error meassges, the email gets lost in Internet space.

He is what ive tried to fix the problem. Using my ISP and my server outgoing server , same problem. Ive tried firewall off and on, router off and on, Norton off and on. Ive contacted those nutsacks at my ISP Tech. Ive contacted my host..anyway the list goes on and on and on!!!!!!!!!

I suspect may XP SP2 is causing? Losing my fucking mind here!

Basic_man 03-31-2005 07:36 AM

Witch email program do you use, and did you test with different email account (ie different SMTP outgoing server) ?

acctman 03-31-2005 07:37 AM

maybe your ISP but your server on a ban/spam list. if the did a regular tech would be clueless

Luc 03-31-2005 07:38 AM

what domain are you sending the e-mails from?

i've had this problem before and it was caused by my domain not having
proper PTR settings. to combat spam a lot of ISPs started to check the
IP of the sending domain to make sure it resolved to that domain or that
host, if it doesn't the e-mail is considered spam, and it doesn't bounce
back because as far as they're concerned, the sender doesn't exist.

Other possibilites are, your domain/e-mail became blacklisted.

If shit doesn't bounce back, it usually means a spam bot tossed it.

pstation 03-31-2005 07:57 AM

Your emails might be discarded by some spam filters. the email came fine to me, but your ISP's mail relay server seems to be listed in a few blacklists

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=24.201.245.36

Sadly, some people still use spews :(

Ray@TastyDollars 03-31-2005 08:06 AM

Gunni 03-31-2005 08:07 AM

loverboy 03-31-2005 08:10 AM

try using other mail programs like Thunderbird. Outlook sucks for me

Trixxxia 03-31-2005 08:16 AM

Ray, if you're using Videotron - it's their spam filters. Depending on what words or any links you are including in that email or the domain you are emailing to - they block it but to you, it looks like it's gone out regularly. This has been one of my problems sending email from my email account since about the month of November/December.

pstation 03-31-2005 08:24 AM

If possible, use the smtp server for nichespots.com to relay your mail.

pstation 03-31-2005 08:25 AM

Oh wait, that might not be possible, since according to http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/11852 they restrict outbound access to port 25

I think it's, a lot more are using DNS black listing

Ray@TastyDollars 03-31-2005 09:16 AM

Ok we come to the conclusion that its our outgoing servers. We've tried both our ISP and Host and same results.

Is there a service that I can buy a 100% secure no spam filter out going mail server?

pstation 03-31-2005 09:23 AM

you shouldnt need to buy one, do you have a dedicated server?

4 of them. I ve tried them and there are occasional erorrs due to somthing about port 25. I was always told its better using my ISP outgoing.

Ray

pstation 03-31-2005 09:29 AM

Yeah, your ISP blocks outgoing connections to port 25 to anything other than their mail server. What you can do however is set up SMTP on an alternative port such as port 26, or use SSL SMTP, which should work since it also runs on a different port. Are you using any specific control panel?

webair 03-31-2005 09:33 AM

ray contact me on icq I can disable your spam filters

Ray@TastyDollars 03-31-2005 09:41 AM

LO FUCKING L

We just called out ISP again for the third time and after 3 tries we finaly spoke to someone compitant.

With Videotron, its been a month now that a new Spam filter has been applied. This spam filter does NOT block emails it dumps email with block URLs in the body. So if your sending an email with a link and that specific link is blacklisted, the email never gets to the recipient. This is why some of our email get through and some do not.

It gets better, this "new spam block" can only be dissabled for 24 hours and NOT be permiatly dissabled.

So anyone using VideoTron outgoing should keep an extra eye open.
