People that use outsourcing companies...

I'm looking for people that have used outsourcing companies in the past or are currently using them.. (not looking for spam as I know who I would go with already)

I'm curious how much work I could expect out of a outsourced employee? I'm looking to have them do just real basic grunt work. Not really a lot of designing as I would supply them with basic templates for galleries and so on.. I would expect them to crop and add the pictures, fresh text (the text would be the important part) and so on, maybe doing some new designs here and there but most of the work would be from templates.

Assuming they are using mostly templates would 20 galleries a day be asking too much?

If text is that important to you then go with someone who has spoken English from birth ... otherwise you're going to be disappointed.

Well some of the outsourcing companies are located in countries where people are taught English at a very young age. Such as the Philippines and so on, so I wouldn't think that would be a major issue, assuming the outsourcing companies can deliver what they promise.

You are wrong in that assumption. Just because someone is taught to speak English from a young age does not mean that they learn to speak it as fluently as someone for whom it is their native language. There are nuances in the language that escape the outsourcers regardless of what their education level might be.

But take my advice or ignore - it's entirely up to you. You asked for advice and I gave it - and it's not just from my experience - it's from all those Webmasters who come to us and tell us that they have had bad experiences with the outsourcing concerns who promise great text but deliver something less than crap.

20 galleries a day? i can do that in about an hour. if they cant do 20 galleries a day you would need a new worker.

indeed :thumbsup

an advice: try to have'em make different tasks, if you make'em build 20 galleries a day, you'll burn them, they'll only want to finish the task as fast as possible and therefore you'll end with some crap in your hands :2 cents:
