Equal or greater force laws?
i was having a discussion with a buddy of mine and i feel if i am in a fight i am going to use whatever force i have on me to end it.
lets say someone attacks you with fists and you pull out a bat? are you open to legal charges because you are using greater force? or if someone pulls a knife on you and you respond by pulling a gun? are you open to legal charges because you are using greater force? what do you feel about this topic? |
bump anyone know any real info on this topic?

In law your first option is supposed to be flight. If your unable to flee then generally you can use enough force to subdue or remove yourself from danger.
Then again your in Canada, so not too sure. |

The problem with pulling a gun in Canada is Federal Gun laws. If you were being robbed, and you pulled a gun on your attacker, you could well do more time on the gun charges than he did on robbery.
