What would you do in this situation ?
You own a community, and its being attacked by SPIM bots that are sending 10,000's ++ of internal unsolicited mails promoting another site.
You know what programs they were promoting, you had them shut down. You know who this person is as well. I read some interesting stuff about how MySpace.com just had somebody arrested for doing that http://www.techworld.com/security/ne...ge=1&pagePos=2 http://www.wrighttimes.com/article.php?id=147 Let me know your thoughts, any advice is appreciated. |
If you know who it is -
Contact them before you have them arrested and tell them if they don't stop you'll proceed with legal actions. He might just go away. |

Hi Crypt,
I agree the blackmail thing was pretty serious as well, possibly much more serious I am not a legal expert. I do know that I just got off the phone with the head Federal Prosecutor that is taking this MySpace.com case on and his words were encouraging. He gave me the direction I needed to sort this out. |
