White collar crime does pay I guess. News like this must inspire some honest people to get into a life of white collar crime. The benefits so great, the risk and consequences so minimal.

Easy (I think). If a trusted party said we'll give you $180 million if we can lock you up for 6 years. Would you?

Just think about what you could do. Six years of maybe reading, working out, studying. I think the article said it's a Canadian prison so it's probably safer and cleaner. You wouldn't be doing hard time. Heck, you could become a lawyer or other professional in those 6 years and at the end, you have no worries because their is 6 mil awaiting you. At least I would seriously consider it.

I probably wouldn't want to do any longer. When you start talking 10 years that's a huge portion of your life and I'd rather spend it broke and free then waiting for any amount.

It makes sense, but I doing pretty well without having to be a fucker. And i'll always be free.

Serving 6 years for $180 million is one thing. Having to rob people of that money and doing 6 years is another. Those guys can somehow sleep at night knowing they've ruined people's lives.

haha, don't count on that. Prisons up here are as if not more dangerous and dirty than American prisons. Instead of getting fucking in the ass and stabbed by a huge black guy, you get fucked in the ass and stabbed by a huge native.

it really depends also if you have a crack legal team.........get a public defender on anything and consider you ass grass..... :2 cents:

I'm shocked they're even sending him to prison over this. I mean come on, here in Canada, people who kill someone get a year of probation, they don't goto prison! Hell, street racers killing pedestrians get a slap on the wrist. What about the pedophile who was released, molested some kids and then went back, and then got released again, then molested some more kids?

What about the group of 20 15-16 year olds who swarm and beat someone so badly, the person has irreversible brain damage... They don't get in trouble, they're released to their parents!

I love Canada and I love living here, but our justice system is so fucked.. it's fucking pathetic. Murderers are being released and killing again, rapists are being released and raping again. One case here in Vancouver, a guy was in court facing over 50 car theft charges. The judge gave him a conditional sentance. When asked why he did that, the judge said, "what do you want me to do? put him in prison?".

If I knew I had $180 million when I got out, I would serve it.

6 years for $180 million? Hmm... that will be a white collar club fed... I'd get out in 3 years... I can work out and read some good books, maybe learn a language or two... and come out with $180 million.
