The state of our natural environment is in deep trouble:

"The most comprehensive survey ever into the state of the planet concludes that human activities threaten the Earth's ability to sustain future generations.

The report says the way society obtains its resources has caused irreversible changes that are degrading the natural processes that support life on Earth."

This study is so powerful because you have almost absolute agreement amongst researchers on the findings.

Decades ago they said [this is fact], that the dinosaurs eroded the ozone later due to major release of gas [farting]....now thousands of years later, we deplete SSN, medicare and natural resources.

Good news, we will all be dead before this becomes somebody's reality.

Like any intelligent person can't figure out human kind destroys mother earth, and in the natural life cycle of things, to retain a balance and restore the natural carrying capacity of any natural ecosystem, something must happen - famine, disease, etc.

If it wasn't us killing each other off, it had to be mother nature to restore the balance. Just goes to show how truly un-evolved beings we are (as a whole) where we can't even regulate sustainable growth.

its truly sad

To think you'll be dead before the effects will be felt is naive. You're already feeling it in one way or another.

There are now something like 6 billion people on the earth! 95% of which are just struggling to survive! The concern over the planet comes 2nd to thier basic needs! 1% or less are rich and are more concerned with aquisition money and power. The 4% left over comprise the people who give a dam, and can aford to take time out and try to make a difference! (most of whom still do nothing) :Oh crap it's fucked!

when earth gets sick of our species, it will reject us like a bad organ. fear not. the earth will survive, we shall be destroyed. our species is just another stage in the evoloution of this planet.

Yup, George Carlin said it.... we're not "destroying" the Earth... we're destroying ourselves. The Earth will be just fine. It's gone from ice age to lava to ice age and been bombarded with asteroids, meteors, cosmic rays and everything else... and it's still here.

It'll be fine.

We'll be gone.
