Whats the best software for starting a blog? I dont want the blog hosted with a blogging company, I want to host it myself.

I'm doing a custom coded weblog site for an escort who who wants to offer blogspace to her friends and other escorts.....

Made it super simple so even an escort can use it LOL

Still a work in progress...
They launched it Monday so its sorta still in live-beta-test mode.

The off the shelf stuff (like wordpress or bloghoster) was cool (for me) but the fear was that the many features etc would confuse these little girlie sex machines LOL

Slimmed down the feature set big time to just allow simple posting with maybe a photo at the end of their blog, the ability to do edits, control links, etc

Way different mind-set working with escorts than swith olo girl models I found out. Go figure....

What about Moveable Type?

I believe Movable Type has a version you can download and install and use on a server.

They go nutso if they think you're gonna use it to offer blogs to people, but for an individual to use it was pretty snazzy....

Plus the Movable type addons are nifty

I agree on the WordPress recommendations. Pivot is also a nice one. I will say however that most of our adult webmasters are using thw wordpress script.

Lemme know if you would like any site examples of it in use on our servers.
