Re: WARNING TO ALL
I recently posted a complaint regarding a certain "developer" named Timothy Chirillo (his screen name on here is netnut) from Florida who advertised on gfy that he could guarantee amazing things, including a paysite with 25K uniques daily after 2 months, development, marketing, etc. for $3500/month. As I mentioned last post, this was back in December. I paid the guy $3600 and, although he was supposed to have the site 2 weeks after our contract was signed, he still has not done so. Additionally, his address and telephone number that he gave me have changed and he ignores my emails and requests for updates on ICQ. The site was supposed to be this: www.wildteencoeds.com
|
Update: I did hear back from the developer a few minutes ago that he is still working on the site.
|
you're patient.....i would have traveled to florida by now. then again, i would not buy in to anything that was going to cost me $3500/month
|
You are going to pay 3500 a month for what ?
I dont get it |
my thoughts exaclty jimmidean
|
I dont know if i understood everything right!
Is that "splash(???)" all you have got from him so far? If so, i can tell you that those kind of crap can be done in less than 10 minutes!! If i paid someone $3500 for something and all i got was that i would have smashed his legs with a hammer! :winkwink: |
so how much did that splash page cost you?
|
I have paid $3600 and that splash page is all that I have seen. It's now been 3 1/2 months. I'm still hoping that the developer will come through and deliver.
|
There is no hope. The deal is done and you've been ripped off. If you get anything more, consider yourself lucky. If you pay him anything else, you will be considered a fool.
I hope you do get some more out of it. But if you're considering continuing the relationship at all, you're insane. You'll do best to just get in the mindset that it's finished and you'll never get what you paid for. You should, of course, hound this guy until he dies and take every chance you can get to tell others he is a scammer and a cheat...But you definitely need to just move on to something else. Don't wait and hope it will work out...there's a 99.9% chance that it won't. |
I'd ask for daily progress reports
$3500 a month can get you a fulltime employee to work alot faster. |
For $3500/mo you could have paid for 4 number 1 spots on the hun and have $900 left over for hosting and other monthy expenses.
|
one thing you always have to remember in this biz...never TRUST anyone that you've never met.
and that $3500 is quite expensive for a splash page. |

Yeah man, if that splash page is all you got. You've definately been ripped. That splash is VERY amateur. He used a tutorial to make that BG in photoshop and the buttons and all is amateur IMO... But like forestated, seems this is a raw deal and it shouldn't take this for him to respond to you... I'm a graphic artist and Video Editor.. You could'be paid me $35 for that splash...
|
O goodness, I looked at that splash page again... VERY amateur work...
|
O Jesus.. Why am I keep clicking that homepage/splash?... That damn splash is UGLY and off cue as hell. LOTS of inconsistencies as far as graphics... Can't believe you paid $3500 without verfying this guy... SMH

Want to sell the site?
how much would you take for the domain name? I will take it off your hands if the price is right. :pimp

I just felt that i had to write another reply!
Itīs not to be rude, i just want to understand!! What that "ripoff"-guy has told you is that you could make +$3500/month with his help, right?? My "guess" is that he would have kept this "little secret" for himself if he was that sure! For a very good design + development, marketing and loads of traffic $3600 would have been ok., but for something like that!?!? :upsidedow It has been said before in this thread, but i can not understand how you could pay someone that much without any kind of guarantees! Playa-Deak>>> "You could'be paid me $35 for that splash"... Shame on you!! :winkwink: How can you charge that much for that kind of crap?? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |

Odd. A guy named Jim Chirillo ripped me off for over $12k several years ago. He was in Florida too.
|
thanks for the heads up about him.

I actually had a conversation with this guy on the phone. His sales pitch is basically this:
He will drive 20,000 uniques per day to your main site (in this example your main site is a paysite) and he can roughly guarantee that the traffic he pushes to your site will convert 1:1000, thus giving you 20 signups per day, based on the work that he does. He does this work mainly by building and submitting free sites for you. He will submit X (I think he said 5) free sites per day. He also build TGPs, submits gallery pages, and will administer affiliate programs. It will take him 3 months to do this. If at the end of 3 months, you are not getting 20K unique/day, you get half your money back. Incidentally, I was quoted 3 months x $3k/mo = $9k total. [you can see there's a lot of things "going on" in his regimine, which if someone KICKED ASS at implementing all these strategies, then $3500 per month seems reasonable--that's a big muth fuckin IF though] Your best bet in this business is to not give the too many jobs to any one person. Unless you've had great results with the same person over a period of time. If you're going to out source, it's best to spoonfeed a couple of small tasks and see how those work out, then bump it up. You've got to compartmentalize your outsourcing expenses--like a ship has water tight compartments, if one compartment gets flooded you don't sink your ship, errr bank account. I'm curious, did you check his references??? I'm not a lawyer, but did you have a lawyer look at the contract you signed? Even if you didn't I'd look into some kind of legal action. Accounting-wise it will be costly to sue and make any money back, unless you just go to small claims. But if you have a friend who's a lawyer, you could buy him dinner in exchange for a very threatening (and totally legal) letter. That might light a flame under his ass. |
Where did you find this guy?
|
Here on GFY. He posted that he was an adult consultant.
